I really appreciate that the boys have fully incorporated "Mothman is cheeked up as hell 🍑" into the mythos as an important piece of Mothman lore. His ability to make it crypticly clap is now canonically a feature: glowing red eyes, huge wings, booty for days. I love it.

Storytime; I just recently discovered the "buzzfeed unsolved" channel while extremely sick, binged every single bit of the paranormal and true crime videos. Couldnt get enough. But to my surprise, the channel had been bought an the series was over. Que the heartache music. always love to see the rougarou get some attention!! but for future reference, it’s pronounced “roo-ga-roo” 😂 it’s also referred to as a loup garou (loo ga-roo). it’s more or less louisiana’s version of a werewolf-not celebrating lent is one way to become one, but i’m pretty sure you can also be infected or have it passed down to you, or you can do something really fucked up to piss someone off and end up Cursed. apparently one way to stop/slow down the rougarou is to hang a sifter outside your door-should one try to come in, they’ll be compelled to stop and count every single hole, hopefully keeping them busy until sunrise.

This episode is wild, and I love it! xD My list of fav cryptids would include, in no particular order: waterhorse (aka kelpie, a horse that drags its rider underwater), black dog (basically a hellhound with bright glowing eyes that hunts down lonely travelers at night), 'Not Deer' (especially in those stories when it runs by a car and it has a human face LOL), Slender man, and werewolves.

The Thunderbird originates from many legends of the Pacific Northwest Coast First Nations! I live on Musqueam territory (Vancouver, BC) and much of the Indigenous artwork displayed includes motifs of the Thunderbird. Very cool to see Ryan include it in his list :)

As a citizen of the west coast of Canada: Thunderbirds are very prevalent here in art and imagery of Musqueam culture and other local indigenous groups! We even had a Thunderbird as one of our Olympics mascots in 2010 alongside a Sea Bear and sasquatch/B'gwus! Real ones remember Quatchie, Miga, and Sumi (realer ones remember Mukmuk the Paralympic marmot)
