This really makes me realize just how much work goes into kpop mv's, and even just mv's in general. Jordon, thank's for helping me appreciate and somewhat understand all the work that goes into mv's. ❤❤
Can we just talk about how that Yuna match cut at 7:23 was so flawless that I had to do a double take? Yuna had a fake runny mascara eye makeup look the second before, but right after she did a motion that imitated ripping something off her face, the runny mascara was gone. If you do a frame-by-frame analysis of the MV, you'll notice that there's a cut when Yuna whips her hair to the side. The attention to detail in the filming and editing process of this MV is absolutely NUTS
Match cut during hair flipping is much easier when the actor and camera motion are well controlled, as nobody will notice the difference of every single hairs during the transition, as long as you added some blur effect between footages. 😏
Yes yes yes I knew Jordan would go insane over this video! The breakdown is so much fun and I learned a lot. Honestly, for MVs with many effects like most of Itzy's and Stray Kids's MVs, I don't mind having longer videos. I can watch this for hours. Great work!
My favorite Kpop group of all time is Blackpink, but there is so much more for Jordon to talk about in itzy reviews because their editors do not keep things simple. Personally I learn the most from Jordon when he reviews Itzy.
As a Midzy, I always wait for your commentary and breakdown on MVs of ITZY. Thank you for the good review and I now understand a lot about Cheshire's concept hahaha
10:08 I love how you said you're ruining it when in fact, you're giving us more than enough reason to appreciate how they created the MV with so much passion and art in it. You're correct, this is not just an MV, but a complete film making magician show inside an MV. This is my first time watching both you and the MV and it will definitely be the reason why I will subscribe to you and check more ITZY MVs lol.
ITZY Cheshire is soo good😭🖤& you all should listen Snowy & freaky they are sooo good😭. Snowy is next shoot for me i want jyp to promote Snowy & freaky😭🖤
when Jordan’s silent you know it’s a good one. The way he examine this music video and dig deeper into it. The more it’s fun to watch. I love this it’s so interesting and fun to see a pro video editor’s perspective
Itzy's director and videographers know you're revealing their tricks. So they make it harder and more complicated on every new release hahaha. Good luck, Jordan!
the part that probably got me wheeze is when chaeryeong threw the ball and they did the vfx breakdown in their own music video lol the amount off the vfx they put into this video and the ideas were crazy
The first time I watched this MV, I knew you were gonna like it. And I've been waiting for you to make a reaction video to this MV. It's pretty mind blowing, right?
Past couple years ITZY has received a lot of hate. People who dont's know will never know the art they put out. All these people saying "itzy is always release song with the same style and beat". Think again. Look at their MV and live performances, they are very consistent and never sloppy.
I clicked on this video because I adore ITZY and I really enjoyed Jordan's breakdown of this video's editing. ITZY never disappoints. Great job, Jordan. :)
Jordan, seeing you get excited, amazed, and just go nuts goes to show that ITZY and their director, cameramen, vid editors etc. has DONE IT AGAIN! Kudos to them for this amazing MV and song 👏 The song and it's message is really good I hope JYPE had done a better job at promoting it.
Cheshire is one of my fav characters all time and I was so happy itzy made a song inspired by Cheshire. Yeah the video is crazy good. The way they keep on coming in and out is so Cheshire!
Jordan, I can't wait to see your reaction to Yooa "Bon voyage". It's amazing! The most beautiful landscape shots I've ever seen in a music video. Editing also on point!
12:19 that cat scratch though- -It only took me 17 rewatches to notice that- I loved this mv and song so much, and there are so many small details it's hard to catch everything 😅 _The editor for Itzy probably had a lot of fun making this mv_
I am not a pro, but I really enjoyed dissecting how kpop MVs are edited because I am in awe at how godly the editors are. I studied After Effects and I did not have a good time - my laptop is ancient and our resources are limited so it turned me off from further learning 😭😆
I love how the ending scene is glitching out because personally I thought it was showing that reality tv shows and gambling are fake and rigged (for the most part) and that they put on an act to hide the truth and throughout the whole mv, it felt like they were trying to trick us to go on the show.
Jordan is making my mind over Itzy songs! I was kinda of skeptical before of the song Cheshire, but NOW really listening to this masterpiece, it needs a special playlist.
After watching the Cheshire MV I knew that you would react to it because of the transitions, and I couldn’t stop watching the part where Chaeryoung disappeared from the pink cloth because it was so satisfying 😅
I'd honestly watch a full 10hr video of him explaining every effect and transition in an MV ;D It's so interesting, because from the viewpoint of a .. person who doesn't do professional video editing?, I can't properly tell how much work went into such an MV and don't understand the techniques used, so it's reeeeeeally interesting to learn.
I used to work as a Junior Video Editor and watching your content makes me so nostalgic, it’s like all the feelings I had towards this art (that I still do sometimes for funsies) resurface and make me rethink the career I’m pursuing now. I’m a big k-pop stan so I was super excited to see you reacting to Cheshire, this MV is insanely good. Thank you for making these videos, I’m very sure that you inspire many to learn to edit. Oh, and I could swear that I’ve already seen this 1:56 VHS transition available in Red Giant Universe 3, I’m not sure if Seniors do use plugins from time to time but yeah it looks exactly the same. Keep it up!
As a regular Video Editor, I actually watch Almost every K-pop MV (But Mostly Girl Group. Ha ha ha) But I thinks the MV from JYP always make me Feel that they do somethings More Than the other Record Labels do. The CG Effects, & the Transitions Always make me Surprise and Excite when watching. ( Plus, the Song/Melody Are always Catchy to me. ) Even the Other Record Labels Also do the Great Job on Making their MVs, I Still thinks JYP's MV has a lot of Work to Do than the Others. (which I mean In Post-Production Phase.) I'm sure about the Budget each (ฺBig) Record Labels Have, but in the end, JYP always Being in the Front Row. PS. Even I admire JYP that much, but My (Number 1) Favorite Girl Group is Red Velvet from SM. ( which sometime they like to do the MV in the Weird Perspective. ) Ha ha ha
I literally love your reactions, you explain very well how it was edited and also many moments of the video make me laugh! great job, bro. Btw, wanted you to react to Twice's Yes or Yes MV. I think his edits are very impressive, you might like it
Ohhh I love these type of videos. Great content! I remember using white flashes as a kid while making amvs, it's so fun to see they're used professionally as well hahah
Thanks for explaining how the song title relates to the meaning of the song and the music video!! I gained a new level of appreciation for the song because I understand what it’s about now 😄 And I didn’t know how interesting and informative these kpop music video breakdowns could be!! It seems like the editors and directors put lots of time and planning to create this piece of art!!
I love fast cuts + drum fills/quick beats. Having figured it on my own when editing, it's just as satisfying to tune and edit as it is to watch. Just yummy.
DAM thank you for the behind news about the animation , thanks ❤ I also kind of just watch this video to listen to music too so um 👉👈 he even got into the lore of the music vid… WOW😮 he’s making me appreciate K-pop more…his attention to detail….
If u notice, they made a rotoscope of izty in the last part and put it in the first part of the MV and vice versa and that's why in the first part Itzy appears like purple (like the final set) and at the end they appear without it (like the first set). My mind kinda exploding with this MV NHL 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
So glad you made this! When I saw them talk about the theme being what's real and what's not, I literally went through the video myself frame by frame to try and see what they'd done with the vfx - but since I'm not a professional editor, I couldn't quite figure out what I'd got right or not. Turns out there was so much more than I even considered!
When I first watched the music video I was blown away. I'm glad you broke down the shots and stuff cause there were quite a but of stuff I didn't even notice cause it went by so fast.
this really makes me appreciate the mv so much more omg, i never even noticed the thing with the background getting deleted lmao. with how you talk about the camerawork i think it would be really interesting to see you react to some camerawork for live peformances? there are some notoriously bad ones but there are also quite a few that are pretty impressive (one that comes to mind is stray kids - domino on inkigayo 210926) and while i dont know a whole lot about camerawork i think it would be interesting to hear someone break it down!
Not me thinking this is the cheapest ITZY's music video ever - no outdoor scenes, no extra actors or dancers. But Jordan's reaction makes me appreciate the creativity behind this video production.
