There's not a whole lot going on as far as effects but the 'push off' scenes in requiem for a dream are shot so well!

I think on the Hercules shot they actually rolled him closer to the camera rather than move the camera closer to him. You can barely see him slightly shift forward from the inertia as the scaling shot ends. It's like when a person is moving on a platform and can't anchor themselves on multiple points so are relying on their core muscles to keep their upper half centered and straight up. I don't know, maybe not, but that's what it kind of looks like to me.

Seriously though. Hard is it to just press a button once and never worry about it again ever. Just subscribe people.

The Hercules shot could be the camera moving forward with a scene overlay OR the Hercules actor being carted closer to the camera in the actual scene.

I bet the Hercules shot could have been him standing on a dolly as it moves toward the camera. The foreground rocks could just be small. EDIT: Actually, in the same shot he turns and walks behind the huge cliff to the right, so the foreground is definitely a cutout plate.

So first of all, I am finally subscribing now, despite having seen dozens of your videos... Wait... OK. I actually went ahead and clicked the button just now. Second of all, I want to explain to you why I hadn't until now, in the hopes that that information might be useful to you. You see, I have a wide range of interests and as such, I have dozens of channels I'm subscribed to on BRvid. I've been watching BRvid for 15 years and I've discovery vast amounts of channels whose content I enjoy. I find that my main page gets incredibly cluttered and it's all over the place, so about a year ago, I decided to start only subscribing to channels I do need to keep a track of, since I have the site open on a separate browser on a separate screen all the time. I found that there are some channels that put out content I really enjoy in specific circumstances, but not all the time. I prefer to search for those when I'm in the mood for them. You just happen to be one of them. No offence to you or your content, but I don't feel like watching you all day every day. I'm basically a casual viewer. I just so happen to have been a casual viewer for so long that I've slowly racked up a bunch of views. To be fair, if BRvid had some sort of subscription curation feature that allowed me to lump the channels I'm subscribed to in groups that I can then all check for updates at once, that would be incredibly useful and would allow me to pretty much subscribe to everything and actually keep track of it. As it stands now, I have so many subscriptions that it takes me so long to scroll down the list of them to see if a channel I'm looking for has been updated, that's it's actually much faster so just type the name into the search and go there. This is another reason I've been so stingy about my subscriptions. It's gotten so bad, that I now never just go to my subscription feed, I just search for a specific channel and manually check to see if they have any new videos. This results in me binge watching a bunch of their videos at once every few weeks and then moving on to a different channel the next day. This, of course, means that actually being subscribed to you will have no bearing on how often I watch your videos, and that seems to be like a good enough reason to not utilise a feature of BRvid I've basically given up on, but you obviously care about this and I care about you, so if it helps you out, I don't mind clicking the button.

----Why I didn't Subscribe---- So the reason it took me forever to subscribe was the fact you reference all these "other" videos you make and I just like watching these breakdowns. I didn't want to be overrun by all these "other" notifications. I felt bad not subscribing so I went in to see what all videos you make and noticed you have separate channels. Probably just for this reason, I'm slow. Plus, I'm sure there are settings things like this but I am bad at computers :P Keep doing what you're doing and I hope more people, eventually, subscribe in the end. ALSO!! Can you chat about Mad Max? Maybe a comparison video on the old and new? Fury Road has some insane stunts like driving a bike to skid it under a moving tanker and then grabbing onto someone underneath! Or my favorite guy, Guitar Man on them bungie cords!!

reason for me not subbing: you ask me to do so - although this isn't my original account I created when I once joined YT - it was back in the mid-2000s - so I'm longer around than some are even old ... and back then subbing to someone had a whole lot different meaning than today ... think about that next time you ask me to sub ... btw: if I watch enough video from one channel yt does it recommend to me any way ...

Wren: (On "Reign of Fire") "This is like the first time we had legit dragons in movies. I mean, we obviously had "Dragonheart" before that, but, you know, that wasn't a bad ass dragon." I guess you haven’t seen “Dragonslayer”.

Terminator dark fates CG was sooooo good. I’d give the movie a 6/10 but the CG was easily a 9/10. That past shot with young John, Sarah, and the T800 and I was bloooooown away when I first saw it. It looks so damn real.

i dont think they pushed the camera in for that hercules clip. the sky stays basically static. what i think wouldve been better was just to put ferrigno on a skateboard and slowly push him towards the camera. the mountain would be a cutout placed in front of the camera.

I don't think "terminotaur" surpasses the uncanny valley.. For Arnold yeah maybe, but for the kid and Sarah.. I don't know, especially Sarah on her mouth, you can see something.. But honestly, maybe only if you really pay attention..

the lou fergino shot, i think the camera isnt actually moving and he's on a trolley and moving toward the camera, at the end of his growth, you can actually see the motion of his body rock forward slightly from where the trolley he's on stopped moving. Another reason why his feet are out of frame.
