I’m not looking for Martin Gabe or Dunkin to win us a chip they are bench/role players for a reason but my point is if we week in our bench to have a stronger starting unit how does that make sense when you look at for example the Celtics bench players some of those guys can start themselves so we need a three point threat in Duncan Robinson a decent point guard in Vincent etc. so if we were to give those guys up which I’m not opposed to my question to you now becomes how do we maintain the strength on our bench???
What Skip doesn't understand while comparing regular season averages with last night game is that the Heat don't play every regular season game against the number 1 defense in the NBA. By Skip standards Giannis played worse against the Celts than he did in the regular season because his efficiency was a lot lower. Same for Durant, Irving, etc, etc.
C's D had a LOT to do with this with some simple adjustments... making an effort to not foul, close out faster, and not bite on Jimmy's pump fakes. That D can easily be repeated all series.

I'm on a Celtics fan. 2 years ago when we played the Heat, I was optimistic and thought the Celtics were better. After a couple games, I realized the Heat were the better, more rounded team. I have NONE of those thoughts this year after 2 games.

As a Heat fan, this game hurts, but yea Celtics just have the better team. Our guards are too small and inconsistent, Bam isn't aggressive enough, we're still missing Lowry, Tyler has shrunk in the playoffs. I'd be surprised if we make it to 6.
Tyler has been a lot less effective in the playoffs. He is a regular season killer. Bam is a defensive phenom but has no offense to speak of. Heat don’t have other elite options on offense besides Jimmy.
This is one of the few times I have heard Skip say something actually point. And it is about Jimmy Butler. He tries to show like he is some grand facilitator at the wrong time. Usually after a big scoring night. You all can check how many times he disappears after having a big game. Dude is not as good as the media tends to overreact. Either they completely ignore him or they swing to the other extreme asking if he is top 5. He is not that guy. Jimmy The Butler disappears more times than pundits and anchhors in the media would lead you to believe. In fact, he tends to have many games where his numbers make his play look greater than it is. Free throws. Put backs when the game is already out of hand. He collects a ton of insignificant garbage time points over the years. Trust.
for one, he definitely did not disappear game 2…he’s legit the only one who showed up. this is a really bad take lmao he doesn’t pride himself off scoring, you watch his game and you’ll understand that. which is why in the finals he was also dishing out multiple assists. he likes facilitating, and he has repeatedly stating he doesn’t think “just scoring” makes a player great, and he’s not the type of player you can just look up stats or the box score to attest how good he is. he had 29 in 3 quarters, idk what more he could’ve done game 2 when his teammates have been continuously either mid or unplayable this entire playoff run. he’s been carrying and that’s not about to work against a team like the celtics. he’s not a top 5 player in the league, no one is believing those takes they’re saying top 5 in these playoffs and he’s arguably been 1 or 2 in this playoff run. he’s consistently been a top 10-13 player in this league the last 5 years but gets overlooked cause he doesn’t average high ppg, but as we can clearly see if he took more shots during the regular season like he does in the playoffs he would be averaging 25+. that’s not how he likes to play though and doesn’t take away from how good he is.

Kyle keeps the offense poise while on the court and gets the spacing and set/rhythm plays for the team including Bam. To be fair, like totally fair, Jimmy needs help from the D to become Jimmy Buckets. Keep him off the line and you just have to deal with his clutch play, which is impressive, certainly. Same kind of player as Luka, or Tatum? I don't think so. He's more like a Klay, or a Jaylen Brown. Definitely not a Steph. Also, what these guys seem to want is for Jimmy Butler to dominate the ball. You can't really do that against a top defensive team, unless you are LeBron/Jordan level. You need to move bodies, and move the ball, unless you can score 60 points or so while playing Heat D. This kind of basketball is not really the Heat culture I have known.

@Only1RareBreed he did try to do that just taking them down to the paint but cause of how strong both brown and smart are giannis couldn't move either of them not embid he fight have been a bit more successful since embid has a finesse to his post game also with being able to be a bull to but to actively take 10 to12 seconds to get a "mismatch" well now even if tou set it up the heat were having about 14 seconds on the shot clock before being able to even start the offense giving a guy about 2 seconds to take advantage of it is most likely going to end in a bad 12 ft shot being tightly contestested by either brown or smart and bam is an average shooter when open but contested he's trash at it
