I dont think the gold trim stopping piglins is op, but it would make gold better than all the others which is why similar beneficial effects should be added for each different material. That would make the extra cost of finding the armor upgrades and trim patterns feel more worth it rather than it just being cosmetic even though it is a welcome change. The effects would have to be pretty subtle balanced bonuses. I think that could be really cool

Trim idea that I quite like, basically pick whatever trim you like or think looks good, and trim the helmet with quartz or iron, the chest plate and leggings with diamond, and the boots with lapis so you get this kind of light to dark gradient like you see on builds and such. It also compliments the enchantment glint nicely, you can also do this in reverse if you'd like with the helmet being lapis and the boots being iron or quartz, or even throw in some amethyst if you'd like

I love these changes. I would love to see an upgrade for the smithing table to add elytra to armor, another tablet for tools of wood on up to netherite, and copper tools. If I find a golden tool with nice enchantments then adding an upgrade to iron then to diamond, and so on, would be fantastic. It would allow a new challenge to start with wood tools and upgrade them all of the way up. Of course these upgrades would take a small degree of other items but how fun would that be. Wood>stone>copper>gold>iron>diamond>netherite! Adding another material to upgrade it could also show how it was an upgraded tool like one pixel of the old too on the tool towards the handle for a unique tool too. What do you think, Cap? Or anyone for that matter. I would love to know what you all think.

@@haxalicious Yeah, it would be OP. If it is expensive and having the armor sharing the same durability to nerf it could make things cleaner. The durability would only be that of the armor so having one on leather or gold would be bad. You couldn't get defense if you flew too much nor could you fly right after a massive battle due to durability loss. I guess people would find a way to make it more broken with mending so I guess you're right. It's a shame that is true but you are right.

Imagine if they added in a hot/cold factor as an option where depending on your armor you would get colder/warmer and if you're too hot your hunger goes down faster or if you're too cold you move slower. Add in pelt armors from the various animals you can kill. If you're wearing heavier armor you move slower but if you're wearing lighter armor you get less protection etc. Make it so you have to carefully pick your armor and not just wear whatever offers the most protection.

I hope some day they make the biomes modular so you can choose which biomes you want to have in your world and at what frequency. Modularizing the items would also be great. Imagine all items were separated into lets say a 4 wide grid with the name under them and you can open them up and edit the recipe, the stack level, and other things. Having mobs modularized could allow you to choose the items that they would drop and what frequency. Maybe even being able to choose the different Villager trade pool. Possibly make spawning methods like how the wither can be spawned, but then again that would be modularized structures.

when you initially uploaded the first update video with the trims me and a couple friends tried working out the whole possible amount of different armor combinations in the game, It went from a couple hundred maybe a thousand before the update to a couple trillion after the update, if they were to cycle one per second it would take about 22000 years to get through all of them, This was mainly the couple hundred leather combinations. Now that you can trim the dyed leather it is a number a couple magnitudes higher than before. Thanks Mojang, this is a nice aesthetic addition to Minecraft i like a lot.

I remember hot swapping the elytra and the chestplate was a thing in Bedrock edition, but this was a while ago when I played Minecraft on the Xbox. Seeing Mojang and Microsoft take the advice of the community to make a more subtle design to armor and trims of the same material is really nice. This update is getting better and better, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they have next in store. Also, I really wanna flex my leather armor with netherite trim now. That's gonna be hilarious.

It seems like Microsoft has pissed off a lot of politicians in a lot of countries due to the trying to acquire Activision thing, so what they have likely done is given a blank check to the developers of Minecraft and basically said this goes into pleasing the community and that's all you're allowed to do with it. Hopefully they've done this with other games but only time will tell because Minecraft is a pathetically easy game to code for

as a mostly hardcore player, being able to swap chestpiece is a literal life-saver. yeah, it's another hotbar slot used but being able to easily swap if you're in trouble can really help

I always keep the chestplate/elytra in slot 9 anyway, but this is so much better than inventory > mouse over > key 9 to switch

Loved the video @CaptainSparklez! Can't wait for the next video man! Yes you could actually set the Game Rules before Starting a New World Seed, you just had to Click on a Button for it. Adding the Trim to Leather Armor and the Sliders for the Enchanted Effects is *HUGE* News as you can basically Enchant your Leather Armor and Use the Trim as Either Extra Camouflage or a Rank and File Organization for your Troops without having to worry about the Enchantment Glimmer Giving your Troops Position away. Add this with The Create Mod and the Valkyrien Skies Mod Communities and if there's one thing that I know's for real *There will be BLOODSHED!!!* LMAO!

Hotswapping between Elytra and chestplate is nice, but I still think the better option would be to simply add a designated Elytra slot (similar to the shield/off-hand slot) to let you wear both at the same time, rather than one or the other. That new slot could even allow the official return of capes-no longer restricted by past convention attendance or some such, but rather properly craftable and customizable via loom.
@Anima-bribe
@Anima-bribe 10 meses atrás
That will never happen and would be a F U to the people with a cape.
@accelleratiiincredibus446
@@Anima-bribe Why do the people with ample disposable income and time to attend a special event need to have a sense of superiority over normal players anyway? And besides, it's not like having loom customizable capes/elytra would take away the Minecon capes the oh-so-special players already have. Also, literally all Java players who migrated their Mojang account to a Microsoft account got a free cape, and that didn't destroy the world. I don't see what the problem would be with adding a little more customization at the cost of a few people's egos.
@the_undead
@the_undead 10 meses atrás
The whole point of capes was to add a lasting reward two people attending stuff like Minecon or similar, also the designated Elyria slot would never be a thing unless they added something else that would also go into that slot, the whole point the offhand slot is there are many things you can put in there so you must choose, also having an Electra and a chess played at the same time would be mildly overpowered
@accelleratiiincredibus446
@@mitchpapisak7183 It wouldn't be anyone else offering capes. It would be Mojang themselves giving the option to players to make custom capes in game. And if they used the banner system, it would still be pretty easy to distinguish between Minecon capes and banner capes. This is all not even mentioning that Mojang could just... change the rules. I doubt Minecon passes are primarily sold for the capes, and the only people telling Mojang not to add custom capes are a few whiny nerds.

I feel like if we add netherite trim to leather armor it should slightly increase the armor value.

They should do something more with that armor trim like require it to activate/enter the ancient city portal to the new dimension, or be able to survive in that dimension.

PS. next update i would appreciate a enchanting update i feel like it's been the same for so long... Also did they leave anything out of the world creation screen? it just seems more empty even with the tabs wasent there like a presets option as well?

The elytra should have it's own slot to fit in so you don't have to hot swap it with a chest plate, or have it equipable to the chest place, and have it return to the inventory when either it breaks or the chest plate breaks, so you don't have to go looking for it. I don't know why they haven't done something about that by now.

Whenever I first heard of the smithing templates, I fully expected that they would give you some sort of slight bonus relating to what template type it was. Like another step beyond enchanting that could maybe do some stuff that enchanting couldn't, like reducing fire/lava damage or something similar for the template found in the nether. I'm honestly a bit disappointed that it's a purely cosmetic addition.

My question, does gold trim prevent Piglins from attacking you? It seems like a great opportunity to get rid of the handicap of having to wear actual gold in the Nether.
