Felt bad for the old man. It's pretty sad how we allow our egos, which only care about validation, to brutally assault and torture our souls, which have been through so much pain already. Not even recognizing how fragile and beautiful we are because of how ugly our ego perceive us, compared to the crowd, which it perceives as beautiful, even though they couldn't care less if our souls broke right in front of them. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the way these were filmed and the expressions the old man had, we're meant to create a feeling of empathy, which is genius because, well, it's you.

Amazing song and beautiful video. In case some of y’all are missing the meaning, essentially the video and album are about an old man nearing the end of his life reflecting back on his past feeling shocked and regretful at the things he did in his past. In this case leading a sinful life partying, drinking, doing drugs, and having casual sex symbolized by demon like imagery on the party goers.

The demon possessed human staring lovingly into her reflection in the pool before a narcissus flower rots in her hand was beautifully done.

I like how the weekend went from blunt lyrics over time to deeper ones. They were always raw and poetic. But now his videos and songs feel more.. complex to understand like you wouldnt get it just looking on the surface now. He ages like bourbon where sure, its smoother going down, but it's a helluva lot stronger content you're ingesting.

The Weeknd really be talking about some very deep things but at times it’s hard to tell from solely listening to the soundtrack. After watching his visuals however, it opens your eyes to a completely different perspective that you didn’t initially see. He talks so little publicly but he says a whole lot just in just one video. He’s got a lot of depth man it’s crazy. Every video has hidden meanings. It’s never just a plain and straightforward video with the Weeknd.

Im a drug addict man and let me tell you this video perfectly encapsulates the reasons behind the self-hatred I inflict on myself daily. I like the perspective of the old man, because when I think of this concept in my own life, I always visualize it from the perspective of my inner-child. I look at the decisions I have made and where I have landed and cannot help but question why I would have turned on myself, and those values that I felt were instilled in me from birth, and turn on that inner child, The incorporation of the "devil" in this video provides that fear of the afterlife, that guilt we constantly feel, knowing were killing that image of that person and potential in side us, that soul that craves authenticity, constantly gets killed by things such as environment, peer pressure, ect. There are so many different layers you could look at. In this life there are a lot of lessons to be learned, I am young, 18 years old. I am not ignorant of the choices I have made, and I everyday am trying to find the strength to listen to old man in me, that knows exactly what I should be doing. I hope we can all find the strength to overcome the negatives in this society and conquer.

I have had this album on repeat since it's release. Makes me feel like I'm floating in purgatory. Somewhere between youth and old age, somewhere between life and death, somewhere between being human and being ethereal. Brilliant stuff man.

This has got to be my favorite track of this album, the video could not have matched the soundscape better, although it was creepy, it was very representative of the meaning of the lyrics.
