Raw talent raw music coming from real musicians who were waaaayyyy ahead of their time and not interested at all in showing off or some stage gimmicks. Just interested in making their own music and expressing themselves through it. Respect to you guys for what you did and achieved at such a young age. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'm embarrassed to say... I didn't know who the pixies were until I saw Fight Club in 2000 (when I was 24 yo) and the ending... as the buildings are coming down, I thought... wow, I like that song... about 18 years later, my 6 year old son was on my shoulders wearing a pixies hat, and watching them perform this song live at the Jones Assembly in Oklahoma City
Ooh, stop Ooh Ooh With your feet on the air and your head on the ground Try this trick and spin it, yeah Your head will collapse But there's nothing in it And you'll ask yourself Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Way out in the water See it swimming I was swimming in the Caribbean Animals were hiding behind the rock Except the little fish Bump into me, swear he's Tryin' a talk to me, say wait wait Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Way out in the water See it swimming With your feet on the air and your head on the ground Try this trick and spin it, yeah Your head will collapse If there's nothing in it And you'll ask yourself Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Way out in the water See it swimming Ooh With your feet on the air and your head on the ground Try this trick and spin it, yeah Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
It's funny how those that are ahead of their time before the "scene" comes around never get remembered or credited enough as those who then spearhead that movement. Everyone remembers Nirvana and Pearl Jam as being the main bands of Grunge, but yet was really started by Pixies unknowingly and unintentionally. Same with Britpop as well. People tend to remember Oasis, Blur, Suede and Pulp as the main guys who spearheaded that scene, but bands like The Real People were way far ahead of their time making music that was to become that familar "Britpop" sound, but never really got their chance or was credited for it either.
Tiktok then fight club then now im holding a gas can walking out of my garage with this playing through a 1990s sony surround sound on high volume as my new neighbors unload their ikea furniture into a cookie cutter home, as i set fire to my 55 gallon drum of past do bills and notices, you have met me at a strange point in my life.......
@Radio Controlled good for you, but i think i've proved that there were always bands with main focus on gimmicks and appearance It doesn't depends on specific period of time No need of this boomer bs
The Pixie's are just when a bunch of music nerds with 0 charisma start a band. That's why Frank Black always had it out for Kim Deal. She was the only one in the group with any kind of star power.
Robots are coming to take 800 million jobs by the year 2030! There’s already a McDonald’s restaurant without any human employees today! We need the Universal Basic Income now! With the ubi, we can also have the ethical $0/hour minimum wage. Which means more people can afford to create jobs! I want dozens of $0/hour employees. Don’t you?! Let’s create more job creators! Let’s make the Universal Basic Income happen now! Tub
My 1st answer is "everywhere", A quarter-century later,my name is "not sure", and I found new reasons to ask. I am wildly-addicted to Oxytocin, and I will go to grate lengths to obtain it. Nomatter the rationale. I love you, even if no1 else does. Get it. XoXo
