The Lions were charged a 4th timeout for an injury within the final 2 minutes. That timeout is only given when a team is out of timeouts. It would have been a penalty if a 5th timeout was assessed.

A game between two horrible teams. Records that show excellent promise for next year's draft. What does that sound like? A HEAVYWEIGHT TANK BOWL!!

If you're wondering why the Lions weren't charged with a ten second runoff when Stafford was hurt and the Lions had no timeouts, it's because there was a defensive penalty and by rule, games cannot end on a defensive penalty, even if an offensive player is hurt. Besides, a team is given a fourth timeout that they can only use for an injured player inside the final two minutes of the second or fourth quarter.

This is why the NFL is the best sport. Even games between two bad teams can be very entertaining.

Late in this video 14:33 mark, it was Cleveland 37 Detroit 31 with no time on the clock and the officials didn't blow the play dead. That being said, the Browns didn't choke, they were robbed and should have won this game. I'm surprised the Lions got a chance with no time on the clock

Don't exactly like Matt Stafford as a player but as a gentleman he takes my cake!

So Eric Mangini is on FS1 talking about the Browns need to settle down with how theyre doing things and then says Kitchens he doesnt believe in and i see that in a situation he calls timeout to allow Stafford to come back in and throw a game winner. Wow! he was the worst coach before Hue Jackson ever. That year was one of the worst ive ever seen.

Its hard to believe that the Detroit Lions is the only active nfc team to not appear in the Superbowl giving their long history in the league and championships in the past. But here's my question "when" will the Lions win the Superbowl? You can answer in any shape of form or sarcasm...

@J GMoney1 lol someone do care other than Detroit, and Cleveland in this window does have a very strong chance of making it as well as winning it in the next few years or this year just like the Saints in 2009 with a talent change as well as some coaching improvements not just head coach

A 30+ yard PI penalty! You can kick a guy right in biscuits and only receive a 15 yard penalty and likely ejection but c'mon 30 yards! PI needs to be eliminated from the rule book and instead call holding or illegal hands on those "interference" calls, penalty would be 10 yards, automatic first down, reset the game clock and play on.

@JumboShrimp _223 - Yeah, it's likely Culpepper doesn't make that play if Cleveland doesn't call timeout.

Nah, the officials gave Detroit an injury timeout on the PI play (even though Detroit didnt have a timeout), but the Browns were the ones to call the final timeout that allowed stafford to come back in.

Unless it's Stafford, they just ignore it then. I've see two players pick Stafford up together and slam him to the turf. And this happened after the whistle blew. No penalty.

I remember this game well. How could I not? Up until last season it was pretty much the last time we were any fun to watch. But now a decade later we're getting ready for one of the most highly anticipated seasons that I can remember. I haven't been this excited since we had Bernie! Here we go Brownies, here we go!

The intentional grounding penalty wasn't even correct, because Stafford's knee was down. Therefore, it was a safety regardless of any fouls.
