The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Spider-Man vs. Electro Times Square Fight (JAMIE FOXX, ANDREW GARFIELD)

Terrified by his new powers, Electro (Jamie Foxx) finds himself in a fight with Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield).

Watch the full movie!

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than himself. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.

If you notice, the crowd and cops were the real villains. Electro and Spidey were trying to focus and figure out a real serious problem.

@Xominus It's like the Police in a shootout with Bank robbers, staying there to watch only would only get in the way of the cops because of innocent bystanders being shooted is a thing that the officer have to care about, not the robber.

This movie is a masterpiece in my opinion. And electro is excellently written, he is exactly how a spider man villain should be: a victim, not born evil, but angered with some trauma that caused him to become more violent. Edit: Idc what y’all say Andrew is my spider man

@Shay RoseSorry, I think "the amazing spider man 2" it's a masterpiece, but even if it isn't, how Electro in no way home is good, there are non explanations, may just because you watched this "prequel" you could understand that, but in the third Holland movie, there is only a massive chaotic situation. The meaning of Max in the amazing spider man 2 is also proportional to the electrical energy he has, Max says that (it is metaphoric expedient)
Sashikala Choudhury
@MD. Atikur Rahman I think the makeup of electro isn't bad either because that is how he is supposed to look in ultimate comics. Also people loved electro's design back then. Well the movie is almost 10 years but I think cgi has not affected it.
MD. Atikur Rahman
MD. Atikur Rahman Mês atrás
True the only prblm with him is the makeup. Other than that he is perfection. Not the garbage like Vulture, Mysterio or NWH.
Sashikala Choudhury
@IMBANGMAYNN!!! !!! Max had a toxic life because his mother hated him and acted like she was ill so that she can feed on his money and make him her servant. His ideas were stolen and he was never even credit by oscorp. He had a wife who had a boyfriend despite being married to max. Electric eel accident happened because he was working alone and no one cared for him. He was going to burnt away by oscorp instead of given a proper funeral. His mother was given lots of money to keep her mouth shut. When electro returns, he sees his mother perfectly fine. He accidentally kills his mother. Everyone attacks him even Spider-Man. He is experimented at ravencroft. And most of the things mentioned happen on his birthday. Well sony deleted many scenes related to his mother and wife. In the first movie, many scenes between Peter and Connors way when they were creating the serum,Connors wife martha and son billy the most important characters in any lizard storyline, were deleted and you wanted to say homecoming is good because it explored a random school kid getting spider powers instead of tasm which had Peter losing everything and getting spider powers and exploring on spiderman way more than any film did till this day. No offence homecoming is a great movie but not a Spider-Man movie

*The level of cruelty Max suffered in this movie is truly sad. For such a kind person to receive such contempt in return is something that makes him tragic, he really tried to do good but gave up after he realized he had nothing left to lose. Jamie Foxx is a good actor.*

God, you can almost feel with Max in this scene. He's scared, yet has unimaginable power; a feeling he's probably never experienced in his life, and naturally is overwhelmed. Spiderman genuinely wants to help him though he forgot his name, and Max even agrees. The stupid police though man...

I loved the stadium scene. Paints us a clear dangerous situation and what Andrew has to work with. Shows us what will happen if he fails, and he executes his strategy amazingly. Always thought the way he utilized his one shooter was always awesome.
MH3Raiser 8 meses atrás
This is such a well written scene with understandable motivations from LITERALLY every party: the cops are now used to supervillains and overreact to Max, not listening to what he's saying. Max's plight is incredibly relatable, nowadays we all sometimes feel overlooked and meaningless in a sea of publicized success and Max is the paragon of that helpless emotion. Spider-Man is genuinely just trying to save people, and in doing so convinces the Police Captain to order his men to hold their fire, and doesn't immediately discount Max despite dealing with other supervillains on the regular, and ALMOST manages to talk him down. It turns this scene from a potential comedy of errors into something tragic, where everyone does their best and it just isn't enough... and we really get the sense the outcome... while horrible, was unavoidable. Spider-Man could've forgotten his name, or that Max existed. The police captain could've argued with Spider-Man, all of these things would add conflict and therefore drama, but what we get is so much more impactful and creates some real narrative weight by allowing the tension to slowly build while you desperately hope for a positive outcome you have to KNOW you won't get.

@leo danihel people have done f-ed up sh*t. My dad spoke about a time where he worked in a school and I was a kid he remembered a colleague talking about a principal who turned his back on a school kid who was being stabbed. People turn away not because they don't care but because they don't want to care. They might care but people are social animals and will surely follow the herd. Some anomalies will go see the hooded man an ask him if hes ok. Some might call the cops but majority will just get on with their business. Probably thinking this person wants attention. If I don't get it why should I give it to them? Act cool like everyone and move on. No ones helping him/her I should mind my own business. A bunch more but the point is if a drunk maniac or some weirdo started doing strange stuff most wouldn't want to antagonise him. Maybe move away or try not to engage. If I saw a drunk guy I wouldn't want to show a reaction since it would escalate things and draw attention to me. Just put yourself in that situation. Would you call the cops? What exactly would you do? Scream your head off and piss your pants I guess. Not saying you would but what reaction did you expect? An exaggerated run from the scene followed by 50 police cars behind one another if 0.5 nano seconds.

No one has talked about this masterpiece of music though. It actively reflects the situation in the scene. Earlier in the movie, when Max gets zapped, there’s a horrific, raw, electric sound, which matches the feeling of Max being electrocuted. At the beginning of the scene, there are anxious, whispered voices, symbolising his internal conflict and social anxiety. When the police arrive, there’s a sound effect in the music that mimics the police sirens. Later, right before that amazing slow motion scene, the voices say, “that spider man, HE IS MY ENEMY” which is a pretty obvious meaning. Every time Electro uses his powers, there’s that recurring dubstep theme. Finally, there’s the part where Max shuts down the whole city. They’re afraid of me They’re dead to me They shot at me They lied to me They’re dead to me And some other things I couldn’t make out, which you can probably find the lyrics of somewhere. This is representing Max’s final step in becoming Electro, realising that the only way he will be seen? Is to kill the light.

The mannerisms of this Spiderman is amazing! It sells so much being a real hero for focusing to help the vilain's problem very humanly in face of their state of confusion. This is truthfully the most human interaction I have seen in a hero-villain interaction, really! It cements itself for being one of the most human scene in a Spiderman movie for this human-villain interaction compared to the more "just a regular kid and human with a superhero suit and power" of Tobey Maguire. Summary: Tobey Maguire - more human for being a regular kid in a superhero suit with a sudden responsibility given to him Andrew Garfield - more "human" for trying to focus on a problem that causes the rampage of an also "human" villain; one of the best superhero-villain interactions ever

before this scene, spider man had to improvise using a single web shooter to save 2 people from being electrocuted in mere seconds. the argument that he’s “careless” should not apply to this scene, putting on the protective helmet should not factor into how he viewed the current situation. if anything, cooperating with the firemen probably took more time than putting on the fire helmet lol

Can I just say that practically none of Spider-Man’s movie rivals are actually bad. Electro/Max just wanted to be seen for how good of a guy he is, but was taken over by all of the power and rage. Green Goblin/Norman Osborn just wanted to try and help build the defense system of America, but went insane after testing the drug on himself in a freak accident. Doc Ock just wanted to do what he did best, perform a science experiment, which went horribly wrong when the chip in his neck lost control because of an electric malfunction regarding the sun-ball and Spider-Man. Vulture/Adrian Toomes just wanted to help his daughter get through life easy, and when he cruelly lost his salvage company that he put all of his money into he went mad and created a vulture suit out of those scraps. Spider-Man 3 Venom/Eddie Brock had literally no business in the good side, he was just a bit of a -in the nicest terms) jerk. Lizard just wanted to help cure and improve the human body for all of the world but instead went insane and turned into a lizard. And Sandman just didn’t want his daughter to suffer anymore, so he robbed some places, was blamed for shooting Peter’s Uncle Ben, and then went mad after he turned into a giant sandman-monster. See? None are truly bad except for Eddie from Spider-Man 3, Eddie from Venom (2018-2021) was not bad however, he was just a loser who’s life fell apart and he got attached to a symbiote that eats peoples heads, and is also an anti-hero, not a villain.

Thing I love about this electro is that this was the first spiderman villian on the big screen that is just complete repressed anger. Has been felt to feel unimportant and disrespected every day of his life. So him using the power is him getting even with the world and getting recognition he feels he deserves. Many things great with this movie but way they played it out just didn't work. I personally think they squeezed 2 films into 1 and that's the main reason why it didn't work.

Andrew Garfield's "Spider Man" movies are so underrated. I liked both movies he did. He wasn't nerdy like Tobey's Peter Parker was and the glasses were gone. He was a skater and I liked how they did a backstory on his parents. And,in TASM 2,I thought it was a nice twist that Harry Osbourn became The Green Goblin instead of Norman Osbourn.

This is the best depiction of Spider-Man in movies, the most comic book accurate…lanky dude, confident and cracking jokes while beating up villains, takes hits but he’s not a punching bag. Andrew’s costume in this one is straight out of the comics ….also it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Spidey movie with really inspired and creative web swinging…just the first 10 minutes of this movie have better swinging that all the others combined. This Spider-Man is more like in the comics, just formidable and more seasoned. I mean, i like Holland’s depiction of a high school Spidey but this is the Spider-Man i grew up watching and reading.

Say what you will about the script of this movie, but individual scenes like this and others are extremely well written and directed. And Hans Zimmer's score for this movie, and scenes like this are an absolute standout.

I must agree that this movie got much better cinematography than those of MCU.

@The Guy I would kind of disagree. The bridge fight was incredible and so was Spidey meeting Electro and Sandman

@JustAlpha it's true though, cinematography in NWH isn't that good. TASM and Raimi movies had some great shots.

To me, I think that Electro’s blue design should represent how he doesn’t know how to control his powers, but his original design with the yellow electricity would represent him learning to control his powers.

Why the hell do people hate the blue look? I love it. I preferred it over the one in NWH. Plus that design was from the Ultimate comics.

Honestly Andrew is my favorite Spider-Man. He does the Peter Parker sense of humor. Tobey is ok but he seems awkward to me. Tom is good too but Andrew to me is better. The films aren’t better but him as an actor is.

If it weren’t for that crowd and that sniper, Electro would’ve made a good hero. Regardless, he was still one of the most powerful here and had potential put to great use in NWH.

The movie itself might not be very good, but Andrew‘s portrayal of Spidey, the action scenes, and THE MUSIC are easily the best out of all Spiderman films.

In terms of superpowers and abilities, I agree. But I believe some Sinister Six members could still be as powerful but in a different way, like the Green Goblin: He fight his enemies through manipulation and psychological means. :)
