i love the scary part of the game because of exactly what you said; “nothing terrifies me more then my own mind.” they didn’t show us anything inherently scary, just gave us ideas and let our brains fill in the blanks. just another clever way to add to the whole theme of the game.

You know, a bunch of youtubers played this game but I never saw the ending because they were all silent in focusing on it, but Mark, he was entertaining and didn't do all the things other people did to solve the puzzles. He really kept me interested and the game did too. It's like, in the beginning I was in my mind telling him what to do based on the other walkthroughs that I have seen, however, he solved it in another way and I was like: Whaaaaat? That isn't how you solve it, but it worked, and that's part of perspective, we saw something or did something someway and we told ourselves that that is the only way to do it, but not Mark. I know he probably won't see this and I doubt anyone else will but this was funny and entertaining and it was really awesome watching him do things in his own way that no one else had done and he kept me along for the ride. So thank you Markiplier, thank you for keeping me until the end of a game so I didn't miss the message.

I struggle a lot with anxiety and overstimulation, and for whatever reason this specific video of mark's never fails to calm me down. Not sure if it's possible to have a comfort video or if that's normal but here we are

I wanna say, there's a lot of abstract secrets in the game, there are hidden rooms in every level where there's a dome that's full of stars and you have to try and find the constellation within, it's really difficult yet oddly satisfying and calming when you find the constellation...

Whoever designed this game is truly a genius. In a way, it showed the puzzles and ended in an important life lesson really surprised me.

Idk why but marks longer videos, especially the newer style of game play where he doesn't overplay his reactions, is so extremely comforting to me and I have no idea why lol

I love how Mark actually reset his brain when the hallways looped and it kept repeating.

This reminds me quite a bit of the time I spent in the mental hospital. The doctors there were very vague about our treatments and what meds we were being given. Granted, this was a mental hospital. The meds they were giving most in my unit (including myself) were sedatives, that would sit in our systems throughout the day acting as distressing high. It most definitely didn't help with my dissociation, that's for sure. This game is strikingly similar to most of the dreams I've had since my experience at the hospital, it feels so much like them.

When Mark "befriended" the soda (for about a minute) it reminded me of Jack with the bucket in The Stanley Parable game

I just finished playing this yesterday, this game simultaneously soothes you, offers an existential crisis, and then brings a level of catharsis I didn't expect at all.

This is almost like if Portal and The Stanley Parable had a baby.

I was having a breakdown, crying and just being mad. Then you started laughing around 17:30 , it made me smile and happy, thank you

40:49 Now that I'm rewatching with symbolism in mind, I really like this bit. After trying multiple times, walking foward doesn't seem to be working, so trying a different way and walking sideways shows you a new path. The path forces you to be careful and take your time with it's sudden turns, then just before you reach the end it stops you in your tracks with a big "NO" sign on the planks. Since the room is dark, it's hard to tell where the edge is, but it looks like it could be close, so you just gotta take a leap of faith and oh look you made it, great!

1:14:55 might be the hardest markiplier has made me laugh. So simple. So good.

I love this game. I've always been intrigued about games that make you think outside the box, utilize phsychology to toy with your mind, and this game just takes that to make such a beautiful experience. Also, I imagine it was hell to make.

Is it weird to have a comfort Markiplier video? Because this is my comfort Markiplier video. I can never watch it completely in one sitting but I still sometimes come back to watch part of it now and then.

This video is my absolute favorite comfort video. Something about the relaxing nature of the game combined with the feeling of having left reality, the music, the beautiful message at the end, and of course Mark's humor make this my go to video whenever I'm stressed or need to relax. I've seen it so many times now and somehow it never gets old.

I find it ironic that the first game for mark to fully play after unus annus dies is about bending reality’s laws

The galaxy room was probably the coolest secret in this game. It had me mesmerized.

Ah yes, the video that caused "time for another beautiful day at Somnasculpt" to become an inside joke between my best friend and I- usually uttered when we die multiple times in Minecraft and have to do the slow walk of shame back from spawn. It gets funnier the more demotivated you become. Also, can't believe Mark didn't find the constellation rooms.

The ending really sets it apart from a lot of other games because the devs tied the game experience into how we could confront and solve challenges in our lives. What i learned from it with challenges is to be persistent, think through it, be optimistic, and try to enjoy the journey regardless of the obstacles. Have a wonderful day everybody!:)

I never could've even imagined a game that was such a mindfuck. This game is absolutely phenomenal.

I didn't even know the Stanley Parable and portal were even dating much less that they had a kid together

I was really expecting this to be a horror game after I saw blood but it really turned out to by a valuable lesson about life, I really could watch this video more then 5 times a day or more This game shows that if you see something like it showed blood it fills your head with ideas when nothing scary ever happens

I come back to this video every so often, because it's helped me in the past. I first saw this video when I was struggling with anxiety about eating due to a throat injury, and watch Mark play this absolute mindbender of a game was enough to distract me from the anxiety, and eventually get over it. Thank you, Mark for making these videos, and may you continue to be a great entertainer for all.

You know, this game actually had such a beautiful message behind it. Although it seemed you were heading the wrong direction, it was actually just a unique way to get by. I just played superlminal and realized I never finished watching Mark play it😂 I wish I had because playing this in the middle of the night only for it to turn into a horror game was absolutely terrifying

Me: Wow, the atmosphere is so welcoming and inviting, but also strangely unnerving. Mark: Literally laughing because he hears a single piano key play when crossing a threshold.

Sometimes I forget that Mark is an actual genius.

It's crazy how well put together this game is, the transitions from three dimensional to two dimensional (and vice verca) aren't even noticeable until you move. how crazy is that?

I'm just appreciating that he kept the warnings at the beginning in the video. I've seen people not do it and it just makes me wanna scream in a pillow. Because if you just wanna watch a seemingly okay/normal video from your favourite youtuber you don't expect to get a seizure- (not trying to imply I have photo-sensitive epilepsy or anything)

I've watched Mark's channel for over 5 years, and watched hundreds, if not thousands of videos. But somehow, someway this may be my favorite. I struggle with anxiety, and I also love math and things that spark interest. This is one of very few videos on the internet that make me happy no matter what I was feeling before. I know that it is statistically impossible for mark to see this, but on the very, very, very off chance he does, thank you for being an amazing content creator.

I love how near the end it becomes chaotic and you just keep getting tricked into doing one thing but causing another to happen

I love the uniqueness of this game! it's so creative and the style is amazing I like how there are different stages of the dream and the cool link in the end the connects the whole sequence of the "dreams" in the end I also like how you start in the kind of stage of learning how the perspective thing and moving objects works, but then as you progress you need to think outside the box in more and more ways and just try different things ngl this is the kind of game that imo is the closest to art, because of all the emotions you feel and the ending is majestic as you walk back through all the stuff and places you just overcame
