i love the scary part of the game because of exactly what you said; “nothing terrifies me more then my own mind.” they didn’t show us anything inherently scary, just gave us ideas and let our brains fill in the blanks. just another clever way to add to the whole theme of the game.

You know, a bunch of youtubers played this game but I never saw the ending because they were all silent in focusing on it, but Mark, he was entertaining and didn't do all the things other people did to solve the puzzles. He really kept me interested and the game did too. It's like, in the beginning I was in my mind telling him what to do based on the other walkthroughs that I have seen, however, he solved it in another way and I was like: Whaaaaat? That isn't how you solve it, but it worked, and that's part of perspective, we saw something or did something someway and we told ourselves that that is the only way to do it, but not Mark. I know he probably won't see this and I doubt anyone else will but this was funny and entertaining and it was really awesome watching him do things in his own way that no one else had done and he kept me along for the ride. So thank you Markiplier, thank you for keeping me until the end of a game so I didn't miss the message.

Everyone brain: Nevermind, I'mma out.
@__Obscure__ 6 meses atrás
Unfortunately, a VR version of this game would never work. VR headsets have two eyes for a reason: they're trying to let you have actual depth perception. Problem is, actual depth perception totally ruins the illusion that an object could be whatever distance it "looks" like it is away from you. One of the biggest hidden reasons Superliminal works the way it does is because there is only one camera, only one eye. A VR version of this game is literally impossible.

This reminds me quite a bit of the time I spent in the mental hospital. The doctors there were very vague about our treatments and what meds we were being given. Granted, this was a mental hospital. The meds they were giving most in my unit (including myself) were sedatives, that would sit in our systems throughout the day acting as distressing high. It most definitely didn't help with my dissociation, that's for sure. This game is strikingly similar to most of the dreams I've had since my experience at the hospital, it feels so much like them.

40:49 Now that I'm rewatching with symbolism in mind, I really like this bit. After trying multiple times, walking foward doesn't seem to be working, so trying a different way and walking sideways shows you a new path. The path forces you to be careful and take your time with it's sudden turns, then just before you reach the end it stops you in your tracks with a big "NO" sign on the planks. Since the room is dark, it's hard to tell where the edge is, but it looks like it could be close, so you just gotta take a leap of faith and oh look you made it, great!

Mark: I don’t have the patience to look for the blueprint here. Also mark: *clones doors until the game disapproves of him*

When was the clone door part?

This is my go to game for relaxing whenever I'm able to, and if I don't feel like playing it I just watch this instead. Glad to see how many more people more or less think the same, honestly feel like this game is criminally underrated
You know, this game actually had such a beautiful message behind it. Although it seemed you were heading the wrong direction, it was actually just a unique way to get by. A new way to get past your problems. I know I’m probably going way too into detail about this, but I actually really enjoyed the message. It was beautiful. :)

This video is the perfect recipe for sleep , mark’s voice and a mostly relaxing soundtrack

you know the game nailed it when Markiplier said "that's a good point" at the end

I just played superlminal and realized I never finished watching Mark play it😂 I wish I had because playing this in the middle of the night only for it to turn into a horror game was absolutely terrifying

Me: Wow, the atmosphere is so welcoming and inviting, but also strangely unnerving. Mark: Literally laughing because he hears a single piano key play when crossing a threshold.

Sometimes I forget that Mark is an actual genius.

It's crazy how well put together this game is, the transitions from three dimensional to two dimensional (and vice verca) aren't even noticeable until you move. how crazy is that?

I'm just appreciating that he kept the warnings at the beginning in the video. I've seen people not do it and it just makes me wanna scream in a pillow. Because if you just wanna watch a seemingly okay/normal video from your favourite youtuber you don't expect to get a seizure- (not trying to imply I have photo-sensitive epilepsy or anything)

I love the message at the end I really needed that. I’m in a bad place right now because my girlfriend broke up with me and everything is going horribly in the family so I’m really gonna say thank you to the developer if you ever sees this.

Anyone else still amazed by this masterpiece, even to this very day?

I've watched Mark's channel for over 5 years, and watched hundreds, if not thousands of videos. But somehow, someway this may be my favorite. I struggle with anxiety, and I also love math and things that spark interest. This is one of very few videos on the internet that make me happy no matter what I was feeling before. I know that it is statistically impossible for mark to see this, but on the very, very, very off chance he does, thank you for being an amazing content creator.

This is the 2nd time I watch Mark play this game and the 5th that I watch someone playing it, I always come back to watch this game because of how beautiful and fantastic it is, sadly I lost the surprise of the illusions but they never stop being so fantastic. I'm in a moment that I'm really doubting and having problems with myself and the final of this game always help me to put my mind together. So thanks Mark, for playing this game and being the incredible person that you are. -Thanks from Brazil -Shy, 2023

I love how near the end it becomes chaotic and you just keep getting tricked into doing one thing but causing another to happen
Mark: "it's very Unus Annus in here" Annus: "Welcome to the world of Unus Annus, Mark."
@Drago9545 3 anos atrás
I read that as Ethan speaking!
@thebirb1762 3 anos atrás
When I was typing it, I can just imagine Unus or Annus appearing just out of nowhere in the game just saying that as the unus annus theme start playing
@nikitasfantasies6658 3 anos atrás
Don't you mean welcome back?
Well, I mean, think about it right? Unus Annus gets deleted, where do they go? Unus Annus now only appears in a person's head as memories and Superliminal takes place in the mind of a person in a dream state. And within the dream state, anything can happen. So, in the dream state, the mind could make the world in black and white and have Unus and Annus appear within the dream state. I have no idea what I said there

I love the ending of this game, honestly turned the whole thing into something therapeutic and somewhat inspiring.

I love how the objective was to create a paradox and break the dream, but Mark breaks the game in the wrong way. 😂 only he can do this feat 😂😂
@WitherRage 5 meses atrás
I love the uniqueness of this game! it's so creative and the style is amazing I like how there are different stages of the dream and the cool link in the end the connects the whole sequence of the "dreams" in the end I also like how you start in the kind of stage of learning how the perspective thing and moving objects works, but then as you progress you need to think outside the box in more and more ways and just try different things ngl this is the kind of game that imo is the closest to art, because of all the emotions you feel and the ending is majestic as you walk back through all the stuff and places you just overcame

Still love watching this, would be so cool to have a Superliminal 2 🙃
