This is the most natural interview I think I've ever seen Steph give. Really shows you how deep of an actual friendship these two dudes have. I also loved the whole part about his underrated program - I feel like there's so many guys out there that just need a chance. Ja is like the biggest example of that right now, literally a zero star recruit who's now a superstar in the league
Draymond, I'm proud of you man. Means nothing coming from me but I see you out here getting better and better with every interview. Keep doing your thing. Motivating everyone.
“Don’t count anybody else’s money!!!!” Wise advice so many people need to take! Love me some Stephen. And the chemistry and friendship these two have is so infectious. You can’t help but smile
This interview was so genuine. A joy to watch from beginning to end. What we just witnessed was a true love of basketball, friendship, and family. Trust me. This interview will be archived and seen for many years to come and enjoyed by all.
Dray was already one of my favorite ball players in the nba, but he’s becoming one of my favorite human beings in the NBA. Love how there’s no half stepping with you. Thanks for being real and honest with yourself and us as fans. Much respect!
What stood out to me about Steph was how little he wanted to talk about himself and his own career accolades. But when he was asked about his youth programs he could talk on and on. So much respect for this guy
@victor I know dudes who are accomplished. Some guys are a bit shy and don’t care like you would think they should. Attention ain’t for everyone. Think of introverts and extroverts
As a Minnesotan, I can vividly remember how disappointed I was in our management for picking Rubio and not Steph, especially after that Davidson run. Our organization is just atrocious.
Not only Rubio, Rubio at the time was kinda stupid but can make sense, but there was a second pick, also a guard that was drafted 6th and that make absolutely nooooo sense and dammmmn I love your front office
He wasn’t going to play for Minnesota. You think they just Picked Rubio and Flynn as part of their plan. Steph was the guy but his dad made it clear he wouldn’t play in MN so they scrambled for replacements
Man this is good. I would love for you to have the team on the show talking about how you all became one of the most dominant and humble teams in the nba with all the narratives that floats around the media. What makes your locker room sooooo strong and resilient based on the history and all the factors that plays apart, for you to continue to play at such a high level. It’s a completely new tram Haven’t seen this since the 93 Bulls.
The underrated camp stuff sounds amazing. Big ups to Steph for doing such a thing for the guys that aren’t as highly recruited or maybe just don’t get the exposure or hype because of location or things of that nature. Mad respect for my man on that front. Very inspiring and uplifting to hear about those that are in the position to do such things and are actually doing it. And without doing in just for image or seeking exposure and limelight for giving back. Doing it for the right reasons. I would love to help with something like that in anyway I could. Like on the crew or workforce behind the scenes helping the boys and girls that attend these camps and such. It would be so fulfilling and rewarding. I need something like that in my life. To help guide and give me purpose. I wonder if there are any openings of any kind on “the crew” I’ll take the 💩 detail if need be. I’ll work my way up and prove myself. My life right now is kind of the “ship with no sail” thing going on and doing something like that would be so awesome. RESPECT STEPH 🙏🏻 👏🏻
Mr Draymond Green I've been following the warriors for about two decades now you guys are my favorite team and my wife and sons as well I just wanted to thank you guys for so much entertainment over the last couple years while I was bedridden for three years after my triple back surgery it has been an absolute treat to watch you guys and now with this content in your podcast it's just amazing to have something to watch that is so entertaining I never been to a warriors game it is my live stream one day I'm sure I will but until then thank you for all the stuff that you guys put out PS you guys are winning the damn chip this year I don't care what anyone says I called it last year and I think I'm right
I pray you're healthy & living your best life after those surgeries. I live with an autoimmune disease that leaves me bedridden in stints - I'm finally getting better after 2yrs of sickness, essentially having no life. I pray health, wealth & an abundance of all that makes you happy. I hope you & your family make it to a game at the new Chase Center. I hope to make it to a game there somebody myself 🙂 Let's go Warriors 👏👏👏👏👏 We've got a chip to get with our name on it this year!!
When Steph speaks, you listen. Great interview, Dray!! I’m hoping you could do one with Klay and Steph combined. It’ll be awesome to hear about your 10 years (and counting) together.
Being one who grew up and lives here in the Bay Area, we are so fortunate to have you guys. Your interview is so much just down to earth and relaxed. We love you guys. And thank you so much for giving us all the enjoyment. Who would have ever thought that we would ever have a team like this. Me being an ancient fan. I remember all the gut wrenching years when we were always in the cellar. When this team was bought by the present owners, They assembled you guys. Steve Kerr came on board, and you guys came on. It was just like night and day. All I can say, is thank you. We are now spoiled.
Very thoughtful and thought provoking interview! Draymond has a high instinct for taking questions in a direction that most analyst would not think of. Awesome podcast!!!!!!
The part about lebron was really crazy to hear. We often get caught up in all the competition to the point that we forget that all these players are humans with emotions. The amount of respect shown in that segment was surreal and to think that steph, an all time great in his own right, still has and knows the location of the signed lebron Jersey he got in college, shows the level of respect he has. And I love how it's reciprocated by lebron as well. Fuck all this weird talk from make believe 90s fans who claim that no one was friends back then, so that's real basketball. To me, the spirit of the game is this right here, competitiveness but ultimately, mutual respect.
@Phantom Stranger bro that 90’s shit ain’t real. Jordan was golfing with Danny Ainge during a playoff series that they were playing against each other in. Also all the nba players went to Chicago to hoop with Jordan in the summer. That shit is like old guys telling fishing stories lol, every time they tell the story the fish get bigger 🤣
Dang. It's more to these guys than I " hear" about from the "sports news". platforms. I am so proud to hear these brothers articulate their goals, motivation, philanthropy, and more. Man this interview makes me proud. I'm just loving it, hearing brothers serious about helping others. And Draymond. What a smart brother. DANG! Steph, what an understanding businessman.
Draymond, thanks for giving us a peek into your world. Great interview and excellent job in sharing with us more of the authentic Steph. Love you both and can't imagine the amount of hits both positive and negative that bombard you daily. The world seems to revolve around controversy and the negative and you both have showed us how you live above that narrative. Your love of the game is so beautiful and I can't wait to watch you play together and chase another championship. Go Warriors!
This is awesome!! Much respect coming from a Lebron fan.. Steph is one of a kind period, but this is epic, great insight, well spoken and smooth with his words, he truly is top 5/10 in my opinion and climbing it looks like.
This is real love and respect. Dray you got it. This show is going places. It is simple and real and just nice to watch. I love it I think Draymond has found his next chapter. Blessings
What an amazing interview. It’s beautiful to see the respect and love you guys have for each other. I love that no matter of the success it shows the humbleness and and that way you lay out everything with your struggles and accomplishments you can still be you true self. We need more interviews and conversations like this to show the true nature of all these successful people of what it takes to get to the top but still be humble, still value people that helped you along the way and it’s ok to make mistakes but learn from and still have support for each other.
Great job, Mr. Draymond Green! Best Interview ever that came off as a honest discussion between two professionals. Really genuine deep questions and answers.
I have been a Phoenix Suns fan my entire life. I remember Kevin Johnson visiting my school and remember thinking some who looked so short was still a Giant. Yet over the past 3 years the Warriors demanded attention while at the same time saying NOTHING. They have allowed their game to speak for them! They are without question the most humble team ive ever seen. Steph Curry isnt on the news for anything other than Basketball! Draymond is one of those guys who is 100% on and off the court. I've never been to a Phoenix Suns game since Steve Nash days. Lately I only look forward going to see the Suns play if they are playing the warriors. I supported The Suns all my life because of the TEAM. Now I find myself supporting the Warriors because of the PLAYERS. I love their loyalty to the fans, city, coaches, EACH OTHER!! Other Players find team mates to blame, the warriors win or lose as a team. They are the Team Basketball should reflect how to be a great example of when people look at the sport. God bless everyone on the warriors.
That was one of the best interviews I've seen in a really long time. Great job by both these brothers. I can clearly see why they've been so successful together...
Awesome interview, u can tell these two r very good friends… no awkwardness and the chemistry they have makes for an awesome interview. Very well done. Been a Steph fan since he lit up the NCAA tourney playing for Davidson!
@PHENOMENAL SAVIOUR not hating at all, ive been a fan of curry since watching his run at davidson(especially when he manhandled my home team Badagers in the tourney). Anyone that knows basketball knows he is a liability on defense(man to man). By saying someone isnt an all time great player(as far as total game) isnt a slight at all. Obviously he is by far the greatest shooter we have ever seen in the league.
I'm an Army person who teach basketball to overlooked kids in SF. This is bar-none one of the best interviews between athletes I have seen. It's refreshing to see an actual, meaningful interview without the ridiculous questions lacking substance. I viewed this interview with the kids and they loved it. Actual intelligent humans with feelings. Thank you Draymond and Steph. Really - thanks! I forgot to mention earlier: kids have a ton of questions, questions I can not answer.
Man the thing steph brings to the team not only on the court but off the court is priceless. I hope they keep him forever and after he moves to a coaching position.
And fans got mad when Monte got traded. Best move warriors made in their franchise history. Little they know then. I always like watching Monte but he's 1 selfish player. He will never thrive in Kerr's system. I like curry got to know him in March madness. He can shoot then.
What always gets me is that the big 3 (Steph, Klay, Dray) future HoF’ers were all drafted by the Warriors and picked up lower than their worth in the draft.
Great Podcast and insight. No player has ever done game break downs, interviews and insights as a player, while that player is currently in the Championship and at top of their game. Excellent
This is a beautiful moment. Having watched you both in college, it is such a incredible to watch you now, just having won your 4th together. Damn, the Draft, Acie Law, Rubio and them... Monte Ellis is the ultimate professional, dude would run 48 Minutes for Coach Don!! WOW!!!
That was shockingly good. Give Green more reps at this and he might be a interview legend. His commitment to honesty is refreshing and absolutely want people want.
Amazing interview! I went to the game in Dallas in March and loved every minute of it (minus the loss). It’s a joy to watch this team play! Also that near perfect season would have been perfect if Dray doesn’t get suspended🤷🏽♀️
Imagine Steph getting traded to Milwaukee at that time and then Giannis getting there later on and turning into what he is now that team would have been unstoppable
When they both said at the same time, “or 3 trips and a blunder” and dray bent over laughing. Man that was the realest reaction by dray. You know they’ve been feeling that way but to see that emotion and how it still weighs on them. Great interview!
Dray that was an amazing interview! You asked Steph some wonderful thought provoking questions. I really enjoy y’all’s relationship on and off of the court. 💙💛
Steph is such a genuine dude. I can't help but just want to sit and have a beer with this man. Could listen to his philosophy and his sense of humor all day.
Thank y'all for acknowledging the significance of Mark Jackson in You guy's growth and success! I've always felt he never got enough credit for what he did for the Golden State progression.
Steph usually speaks as if he doesn't want to speak, this is amazing. I've never heard him speak this much. And Draymond got a new career when hoop done.
I love that they won the championship after this. Mich love for these boys man, never have been a warrior fan EVER. But im a fan of these men, Congrats boys. Hopefully my Lakers are coming!!
This is an amazing interview, and I love both of y'all. It's easy to see the love & respect that y'all have for one another. I admire Steph for everything that he does, but everyone knows that Draymond is just as important. That's why they call it a "TEAM". I hope y'all get more trophies, more money, more happiness, and more peace. I appreciate all that you guys do, and like Draymond says, "Fuck all y'all that say they can't do it without each other" You're absolutely right, THEY CAN'T!!!!💯💯💯
Green , Currry incredible interview from Curry beginning of his career to now , family, marriage and life after basketball Couldn’t stop listening Thanks you both I’ll no longer a fan I’m hooked my brothers
26:32 Steph with the assist! He’s a true PG through and through consummate teammate 😂 (Just having fun). However, the 19:27 segment was the ultimate assist by both Dray and Steph true class. Great and timely interview fellas! 💯
As a Warrior fan I’m so proud that Steph is our guy and the face. But this interview to me sheds a light on how close these guys are. I know nothing is guaranteed but I’m hoping for one championship to kinda complete the run.
Awesome interview! Love the questions and the insight into the game. Would love to be involved in Steph's growth in the game of golf. Willing to travel😁
Good Job Draymond! Steph is my favorite player, and only part of it is his excellence on the court. What a cool person. Genuine and humble. Pro sports and society in general could use a lot more like him.
Thanks Draymond great interview I really enjoyed it I love the chemistry of this actual team as for the Lebron conversation keep out leave it for the front office . Good luck in the playoffs.
Wow. Great interview - great questions and answers. Draymond said what I've felt since 2015. I want Steph, Klay and "Day Day" on the court together despite ANY fantasy trade scenarios.
Love to see them revisit the conversation about players being more together these days in the wake of the Brooks' hit on GPII and Dray getting elbowed in the face and almost having his eye swollen shut.
This is a brilliant interview. Draymond is a such a smart dude. Steph definitely seems like a good, genuine guy. I was a fan on the court before, but I’m a fan off it as well. Bless both of you brothers
What I love about Dray's podcast is the depth he goes into, back stories and it's more than just basketball. Great interview, great friendship. Love it.
Thank you Draymond for bringing us #TheDraymondGreenShow on #TheVolume podcast with interviews from player profession perspective. Awesome #StephenCurry interview. Look forward to platform content moving forward. #GoldBlooded.
Fantastic Interview, @Draymond excellent questions, great perspective into the life of Stephen Curry. Major respect for your methodical coverage of his life. The ONLY question that was not asked with respect to his early timeline, was his love? of Volleyball. A small part of his life, but he did ponder this as a sport carrier at one time. I believe his mother played volleyball on a collegiate level at Virginia Tech? Would have loved to hear his take on the sport, and how it can be merged as a bridge point with basketball, due to both these sports like "BIGs" tall players. Love to hear his take on this.
Lmao I loved the ending. Draymond is so awesome. Steph was great. Two HoF players about to start their next finals run. Awesome interview. Would love to see Coach Kerr, Coach Jackson, and Klay.
I have to admit I am surprised by how good some of Draymond questions were... I underestimated his potential as a person who does interviews. And Steph, well, incredible how he can navigate some tough questions and answer with transparency and at the same time be super polite ... great episode
I really hope that Draymond goes the Larry Bird route…player to coach to gm. His basketball iq is off the charts and he’s had some great coach influences around him…Kerr & Don Nelson & Jerry West.
Man, this show was dope. Green is really good doing interviews and he’s very genuine. I’ve always appreciated Green, and I thank him for this interview. Fantastic insight from two of the dopest people in the world. Thanks guys!!
Respect to Steph and Draymond for this episode and talking about more than just basketball. It's really cool to see athletes that we admire talk about life and real things that go on.
Except they’re not actually talking about the things going on in the world or how to address them, they’re just paying lip service to popular “ causes” and convincing you it’s deep. Kyrie is the one who’s actually taking a stand, not these dudes
