xxxtentacion scarlxrd tons of underground metal and hip hop out there m8. the three top selling songs of 1992 were end of the road by boys 2 men, baby got back and jump by cross cross😂
@clyde travers I'm saying this because I'm from Ukraine and never left it since feb 24. Thanks to States for all the shit that's happening there now. Not all understand this though.
Yeah, well, it was the time of the Oil Wars and manufactured consent in the papers, demonstrations getting beat up by police... a wild time. This song resonated with a LOT of people. And I still play it.
People say that Kurt Cobain was the voice of Gen X, with all their angst, hopelessness, and rage, but I think Zack de la Rocha captured that energy a lot more.
Relevant huh, I guess if your are a progressive and trying to blame conservatives for trying to control you. The left wants to take all our freedoms away and control everything we say or do. I don't like the way Trump talks to people but he gets the gov out of my pocket. Lol sry for the rant
Lol. Not even close. One thing is I didn't get to this song from the rioting. I'm not a far right person but I'm so far from being a Dem. To me Zach sounds like he is blaming corporate America and capitalism for holding people down. And the conservatives for burning cross. To me it's the Dems that are trying to take our freedom and burning cross. As far as the riots I think burning your own city is not going to get people to lesson to you. George needs justice for his murder though.
Joel I didn't either I got to it when I was 5 and now 10 years later and I still like it so I compare it to the riots and anybody that doesn't like trump is a democratic snowflake
Agreed I’m 51 and just heard this song for first time I looked it up after I heard the lyrics on a Justin Trudeau tik tok video ( anti Trudeau)and the lyrics especially do what they told ya really hit
@Ian G Like they said, it was almost certainly professionally recorded(at least 1 cameraman was on the stage), presumably so the band or concert organizers could sell the video. Yeah, occasionally random people did record with a camcorder(or film camera going back earlier), but not when a number of other people were doing the same thing - nothing like the overwhelming number that pointlessly do so now. They probably wouldn't have done this right in front of other crowd members either. The irony is that video is easily available of concerts now, but even if the music is ok it's made irritating by the sea of phones in the crowd.
@MrMonotone wow im an idiot, I thought I was replying to the video of them playing in a record store… Well, if you haven’t seen that one you should check it out lol.
I've grown up, gotten married, had a kid, and have a career.. But I still listen to this song in the car with the volume at max screaming all the lyrics like I did in high school. Some songs never leave you and this was one of them.
Yeah but also they were so good the only real difference is the crowd. Seeing this made me realize they probably recorded most of the songs on that album in only a couple takes.
What an awesome kick ass song!!!! And as others have commented about the music industry becoming soft….I’m in agreement…we need more bands/songs like this 👍🙏
I was 13 when this came out. This is one of the most iconic songs of the 90s. Man, they were great times. You don't know what you got until it's gone...
I love that they're all so casually dressed, Zack just in a striped shirt & pair of jeans.. they didn't have to overdo it in appearance, they did it all in performance
Just saw them live in Buffalo, absolutely amazing. Second half of the second verse Zach changed to “Some of those who burn crosses, are the same who hold office.” Almost 30 years later this band is incredible
I love it the whole band play their heart out for a packed audience. The drummer oh my god the drummer keeps the anthem going the guitarist keep the rhythm going in the singer keeps the audience enthralled with all that music. The lyrics are just freaking he's a street poet. It's all I got to say really. I miss these guys these guys were just such phenomenal artists looking back on all of it now we are the generation that got marijuana legalized. We are the generation that got skateboarding into the Olympics and snowboarding. Gen x live long
I can't imagine the high that performers get performing in front of a crowd this huge and everyone is totally into your performance. Probably better than any drug
4 sure WAY BETTER THAN ANY DRUGS The pure adrenaline alone the hairs on your skin. FUCK be mind-blowing & if you're able to stay sane & not become a different person. life can really be precious but remember we must take what we put out into the universe.
