One of the most influential bands of the last 20 years. Very influential for alternative and indie rock of the last two decades. There wouldn't be any "Smells Like Teen Spirit"s, nor any Weezer's "Pinkerton" album, nor any "Creep" song by Radiohead if it wouldn't exist any Pixies music. I'm going to see them live here in Colombia next year. I can't wait!!!!!

My first introduction to the Pixies was watching Gouge on IFC. It was life changing, fascinating. Shaped my entire music tastes and heavily influenced my own music. I can't see how people just don't get them lol. Hearing their songs is like a super nostalgia hit to me and their sound comes as second nature like listening to the Beatles or something. Musical taste sure is subjective that's for sure. Anyone relate?

I discovered the pixies less than 6 years ago, but when I listen to their songs for the first time it is as if I had listened to them forever, and they evoke feelings like when you remember a pleasant moment with the songs of your childhood, but without any specific memory because it was not part of my childhood.

4AD was THE artpunk label in the mid/late 80's. So many great bands, so many great albums. They made living through the 80's worth it. Living in rural North Carolina, their mail-order catalogue was my lifeline.

First time i ever heard this song i was instantly hooked, one of my all time favourites !!!!!

I can still remember the first time I heard this song 30 years ago. A friend and I were driving home from a weekend trip. He put a cassette-tape (you may need to look this up...) a girl had recorded for him into the stereo, and suddenly it started playing with that unforgettable TWANG. It immediately stuck in my head. And although he hated it, I rewound played it again around ten times. Since then I never have to think for a second when someone asks me what my favorite song is.

I've never heard anything from anyone signed with 4AD that I didn't love. One of the BEST labels--ever.
