Very good to see Mario RPG series getting better treatment, I hope Mario & Luigi is next in line.

I’ve never seen a console so late in its life getting such strong support. Hats of to Nintendo. Our wallets are going to hurt.

Checking the Paper Mario trailer again today just to make sure I wasn’t in a out-of-body experience or something yesterday. Absolutely thrilled that the Mario RPG’s are getting the attention that they so rightfully deserve. 2024 cannot come any sooner

I didn’t realise just how nostalgic Mario vs Donkey Kong could make me feel

I’m actually kind of excited that they’re making another game with Peach as the main character! It looks good too!

When I first moved in with my (now) wife, it was Paper Mario TTYD that I played in the evenings while she watched. It was the game that introduced her to Nintendo and Mario and she is now a massive Nintendo fan, along with our kids. The remaster looks amazing and we are thrilled to see it again (and it saves me from having to plug in my old GCN just to play it again). The Rogueport theme is now in my head

This was genuinley the best direct this year. It had pretty much everything we expected but every nintendo game they showed was a game that we would get hyped up for. And I was wondering when the sora amiibo was getting announced, they were being really quiet about it until now Edit: I realize now that many people didn't like this direct that much...

For those of y’all that never played the original Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, PLEASE play it. It’s a MASTERPIECE. It’s literally one of the best mario games out there

Oh man Trombone Champ is going to be the sleeper hit I can tell

This instantly became my favorite Direct because my favorite video game is getting remade. I seriously thought it would never happen. Thousand-Year Door is a masterpiece. Thank you Nintendo!

I love how trombone champ is presented as the chaotic mess it is. Would be kinda wrong to have perfect footage for those songs.

the fact that Paper Mario TTYD was not only announced but was the ending showcase brings me endless joy. i hope that everyone gets a chance to play this. i have been waiting for so long to get back into this game with text that i can finally read properly again. i hope that it gets a bit more promotion because i want this to do soo very well

Unicorn Overloard looked amazing. For all the Fire Emblem and Shining Force lovers. But the tone and story looked really mature. I love it.

Princess Peach Showtime is giving me Luigi's Mansion vibes, and I love it!

TTYD is so goated and has been so hard to get a hold of for so long… a whole new generation of gamers are going to have a chance to play one of the greatest RPGs ever made.

When I tell you that TTYD remake announcement had me screaming at the top of my lungs 😂. One of the finest pieces of work Nintendo has ever put out in my opinion and it just feels so good to see them showing it some love after all this time. Side note who is you favorite partner and why? (Team Bobbery Ftw 💣)

Obviously the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake was the best announcement this Direct for me (it’s deeply meaningful to me for a number of reasons), but the F-Zero 99 announcement and shadow-drop might be my second favorite announcement, glad to see F-Zero is back in a fun and addicting format! More info on the Princess Peach game was also great, and seeing Trace Memory/Another Code get revived as well makes me happy, since I love it whenever Nintendo revives their older, more obscure games. Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Trombone Champ, and Diddy, Funky, and Pauline in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe were also favorites of mine.

Mario RPG and TTYD (others too) would be the only reason why I'd get Nintendo Switch!! So glad these one hit wonders are making a comeback, THANK YOU SO MUCH NINTENDO!!

Thousand year door was a very nice surprise. Great to see so much support for first party titles and some decent indie titles late in the life of the switch. Would have liked samus over Pauline in mario kart but we can't have it all. Great direct!

It's odd to see Trace Memory but in color! Can't wait! Very excited to see TYD too. And Peach got another solo game! Feels a lil like throwing darts at a board on what they want to do with her, but glad to see her centerstage!

Paper Mario: 1,000 Year Door was one of the best gaming experiences I had as a child. 1,000% stoked to revisit this amazing world.

Well it wasn't the best Direct ever, but what was good, was very good!

Nice direct, sometimes I feel nostalgic thinking about the fact I've been watching Nintendo directs since back when I was in high school when I started watching directs in 2016.

Out of all of these, I think I'm excited for SaGa the most. Several good ones are here, though. Princess Peach Showtime! looks particularly interesting, too.

No freaking way did I ever expect a Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door remake was on the cards for Switch in the history of Nintendo Directs. Having it be shown this late in the inevitable Switch's end of life, is just truly phenomenal. Going through the next 8 or so months will be amazing for Switch. Hopefully if this Switch 2 thing is happening, I hope to God that Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door will have a simultaneous launch with Switch and Switch 2. This was a phenomenal surprise to many Mario fans that absolutely loved that game!

TTYD remake gave me chills, so nostalgic. Will never forget picking it up as a kid because I thought the box art was cool and getting completely absorbed in its world. One of the best GC titles hands down

So hyped for Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, playing on the scarescraper on the 3ds back in elementary was some of the most fun I’ve ever had online

The new Among Us map actually looks even better than the airship! Looks like it gives a backstory to the impostors, which is great.

These most recent two films have been great. In all honesty, this Nintendo Direct was excellent.

Here's my list of what I'm definitely looking out for from this direct from worst to best. Number 9: The Luigi's Mansion 2 Remake: A really great choice for a Nintendo Game to remake. Number 8: Detective Pikachu 2: Detective Pikachu Returns!: A GREAT IDEA FOR A SEQUEL! Number 7: Sora's Kingdom Hearts Smash Brothers Amilbo & The Nintendo Museum: Very nice, that's all I gotta say. Number 6: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 6: A really nice ending to theses Pass Waves. I hope all 6 will still all be available in 2024 onwards. Number 5: WarioWare: Move It! I will definitely be on the lookout for this game. Number 4: The Mario VS. Donkey Kong 1 Remake: A Switch Remake of a GBA Game?! NO WAY! I'll DEFINITELY be picking this one up! Number 3: The Super Mario RPG: Legend of The Seven Stars Remake: I'm REALLY looking forward to this one! Number 2: Paper Mario 2: The Thousand Year Door Remake: I WILL BE GETTING THIS ONE TOO! WELL DONE, YOU ALL! WELL DONE TO YOU ALL! & Number 1: Super Princess Peach 2: Princess Peach: Showtime!: 2023 has been a REALLY interesting year in a good way for Peach, hasn't it? First, she appears in the new 2023 Mario Movie, & for ONCE, in a movie, she gets a break from being kidnapped (Outside of the climax) & now, after 17 WHOLE YEARS, she, finally, FINALLY, gets a second game. Mario rpg is so awesome to see!!!! I love the Mario vs donkey Kong as well, I had the gameboy version of that game that was more advanced than the arcade of course, and that game was awesome! Glad to see an eiyuden chronicle release date too, and thousand year door is gonna be awesome too I never got to play that one but loved the n64 paper Mario. Btw, why is dragon quest monsters not here? The demo is out too and it seems like it’s going to be a very fun game! Also a new contra that should be fun too !

The fact that TTYD is getting acknowledged at all after all these years gives me hope for the series. The remake looks amazing!

SO excited for the Tomb Raider remakes! February cannot come fast enough!!

I remember when I went to the orthodontist, they had the thousand year door in the waiting area, but I could only get about 10 min into it or hope someone else got a little way through. However, it reset every time I was there so I never knew what happened. I am so happy to be able to finally finish the game and know what happens.

Seeing Super Mario RPG having post-game boss rematches makes me hopeful for the same inclusion in TTYD. Additional post-game content for TTYD would be even more unbelievable as TTYD getting a remaster.

Now we need a mario & luigi collection including a remade partners in time. What is the magic behind these Nintendo directs that make me forget problems and feel a little relieved while watching them?

Wow! I really enjoy watching this Nintendo Direct video so much. I honestly didn’t see that coming with Another Code: Recollection. Yes, the 2nd game originally never released in North America officially and Ashley Mizuki Robbins looks kinda different than she does in the original games and there will be voice acting and gorgeous HD visuals this time but hey, I’ll take what I can get anyway, it’s better than nothing, same thing with the announcement of Paper Mario TTYD. I don’t know if Hotel Dusk Room 215 and it’s sequel will ever show up on the Switch what with the game developer known as “Cing” went bankrupt years ago, but hey, you may never know.

Eastward Octopia honestly made my entire week. Im not suprised no one here is really talking about it since Eastward is a very underrated indie title, but its my favorite game ive ever played. While the whole parallel universe concept is definitely unexpected, im beyond excited to see all the characters again!! However, I am confused because it says in this video you don't need the base game to play, but in the trailer and on steam it says you have to have Eastward already downloaded?

I never thought the day would come that TTYD would get a remake! Hands down my favorite game of all time.

TTYD is one of the few games I think that manages to live up to the near impossible levels of hype around it. The game has so much imagination and creativity within its runtime that even thinking about its best moments is almost enough to get me emotional. The game just has that sort of power. Looking forward to the remake not just so us old fans can revisit it but so a new generation can experience its magic firsthand. For anyone who hasn't played it yet, even if you hate RPGs like I do, please don't pass this one up.

I'm glad to see the Mario RPG games getting some attention, even if it is just with remakes. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely gonna get em, but I'm also hoping they sell well enough that Nintendo sees that we want more like them, not the modern style Paper Marios

Games for Mario, Luigi, Peach and Wario. My, you are blasting out the adventures for the Mario cast this generation, Nintendo! I honestly would love to see the day yet when Bowser receives his very own game. I highly enjoyed what spotlight he received in various co-roles of Mario RPGs or Nintendo ads. Even if he's just having dreams of various kinds like being a Kaiju Monster, getting royal treatment by his servants, spending a wuality father-son-time with Junior and potentially waking up just when he dreams of Peach as he reaches her in some chase. Though you likely have better ideas yet.

Mario vs donkey Kong 2 was a forgotten memory, I forgot about the first game completely I loved it as a kid like I started tearing up cause I’m like how could I forget this 😭

Wow of all the old games for them to bring back I wouldn't have expected Trace Memory!! I really came into my own as a gamer with the DS so I remember that game. I think I tried to play it but never got far for some reason. Also nice to see they're including the Wii sequel that was previously Japan-only!

Awesome Direct! Seeing all these amazing Booster Packs really make me envious and jealous of the Switch/MK8 Deluxe players. So happy Funky Kong and Diddy Kong are coming back and that Daisy track from Wii too!
