But what if it were a trick. The next guy could have been an employee that saw how long you played and lost. Aka, big spender. When you give up but stay to see next person, they can make it win. That makes it so you'll play longer next time, spending more.
Your crew and you have gotten so amazing at animation, as the years go on and each new video comes out it seems like you guys one up yourselfs everytime
Awesome video, and I totally agree on a lot of the points raised. I always only take $40 into the casino no extra cards or cash. That way when it's gone so am I. Usually leave empty handed having had a few laughs with friends, and no real harm done. Usually means no take out at work for the week 🤷 I'll get over it!
☝️☝️ Congratulations 👏 🎇 You are now among my selected winners, kindly message me via telegram for your random giveaway prize 🎉🥇 Make sure you identify yourself properly to claim it😉🎁
"You should gamble" - James. Thanks you so much, I was wondering whether or not to but with your full endorsement I think I have the confidence to roll those dice.
Hey I'm one those dealer peoples, can confirm everything in your video. Thanks James entertaining as always :) Also you could count cards on blackjack for an edge. It's nice to take down the house
I love your channel and your show. I'm so glad you mad another video. And I loved this one, it showcased some really important life lessons. That's why I go to arcades. It gives me the same thrill, although the same stakes!
As an Australian I feel the need to point out that James was almost certainly in an RSL (Returned Services League). They're basically veterans clubs open to the public with a bar and casino (we call them pokies for some reason) attached. We don't really have independent pokies or bars here, at least not in NSW. Sadly, most of the people going to RSLs are old folks, who get exploited :(
You and your crew have become so amazing at animation, you guys seem to be talking to yourself every time as the years go by and each new video comes out
I work at a casino as security, all of this is accurate. Everytime you spin, your result was already made. The bonuses were already decided by the computer the some number of spins ahead or just as the bonus starts.
Last year I've gambled for the first time on my birthday. I remembered the tip about keeping in mind how much money you should be willing to lose. I started by choosing a roulette machine and put in 20$. After a few spins I got a special win thing and my money climbed to over 30$. Awesome! But then I kept rolling and sure enough that amount was all gone. Well shit... I walked past a Blackjack table. I was familiar with how it worked thanks to Fallout New Vegas. I put in another 20$ and started. Since I was new and young (29) some of the other players were actually willing to help me a little. Eventually I had 60$ worth of chips! Buuuuuut then I kept going and slowly lost it all... Later that day while I was at the mall, I had the fleeting thought to go back and try to earn the money back. But then I had the thought "That's how they get you." And it just hit me. I didn't go back then, but I might for my birthday again because like Odd said, it's fun. I'm glad I ONLY lost 40$ that day, it could of been much worst. And hey, I learned a LOT just from that one time.
The animation has come a severely long way to where James has actual hands at least *80%* of the time, plus it's always delightful to see another Odd1sOut video as I've already watched the entire first season of Oddballs
That ”feeling” you guys get, makes me feel like I’m on a cliff and I can either fall or fly but I can’t see any wings. It’s stressful so I actually hate gambling. Not gamblers just me gambling.
As a bit of a gambling addict, this video was so insightful, everything about the high you get from a nice little win is absolutely 100% accurate. However, I'm way more into sports betting rather than casinos, so I can at least I can say I haven't gambled at Crown like James.
That snake was so, Interesting, In the best way possible. Why did the voice, character, and animation all fit so perfectly?!! James, your legit a legend.
I’ve only been to the casino once. I played one slot machine and on my first bet, I won 255 dollars. It was a good moment and then immediately checked out cause I didn’t want to loose my newly acquired gas money. 😅
Love the vid. Reminded me of watching my favorite DOTA 2 players "rolling" for kills. They would type in the ingame chat "ROLL 100", and it would generate any number from 1-100. Whoever gets the highest number gets the kill. So what happens is when they ganking/teamfighting and the enemy hero's hp is low, they would stop attacking, roll 100 and give the kill to the winner even if them stopping from attacking gives the enemy more time to escape/fight back.
Yay season 2 of Oddballs! I was so sad that there were only 10 episodes so far! Also I love all of James’ videos and I have watched all of them! A very happy subscriber you’ve got, and I’d say I’m in one of the Top 100 fans!
I remember clear as day my first gambling. There's a casino next my grandparents' house, a rather small one. I've seen it since I was a kid. Once I got 18 I went to try it with 20€, converted them into token and... Oh man Slot machine. One tiem, two times, three times. Damn this thing has no gameplay, I'm BORED ! Let's try the roulette One time. Two times. I'M BORED. I was told gmabling was entertaining ! But all I do is putting a token in a machine or on a table and wait for something else to decide if I win or lose. Probably my gamer soul couldn't take not being in control of my fate. So I just shoved all my token on a single number. Lost it all, and oh would you look at htat, I don't have no money ! I have to go home and play interesitng games on the computers ! Aw how terrible ~ And I left. Never went to play again
Hi James I don’t know if you remember me but I was the roulette dealer from this video. It was fun to deal to you and your friends and I remember how happy you were to unexpectedly win haha
So it's been several years since I last gambled but I love playing blackjack, mostly because of my dad and his teachings of the rules of the game. Now because of this video I want to go gambling! I live in Utah so I just got across the border to Nevada to play.... And do a decent booze run. ^_^*
For me, I gambled one time on a cruise where we got a voucher for a specific amount according to random numbers. I got a $2 voucher, won $5 on a machine, then immediately lost it. Nowadays, the only gambling I do is occasionally go to a Main Event/Dave and Buster’s type of place, that way you can set an amount more easily, and you know that the experience is just playing games and maybe getting a decent plushie that you will never admit how much you spent on.
Wow, what a pleasant experience, and a meaningful life lesson to boot. I wonder how James will sign off on this video. Considering his roulette experience, I'd imagine it's something simila- PUPPY!!! It's so fluffy and cute! My heart can't take it!
Every time I see a vid from James I freak out. He is the only dude on BRvid that could entertain me by just sitting down and watching paint dry. I don’t know why it didn’t give me a notification when you posted the vid. I’m subbed with all notifications on! Oh and by the way, I just got a brand new pfp and I think it’s pretty cool. I drew it myself! Well I did type the words on it but other than that I did everything else! If you could rate it from a 1-10 that would be awesome James! I also wanna get noticed by you. I’ve never been noticed by anyone I’ve ever watched before. It’s sad……… anyways bye! Thank you if you are reading this! Edit: SEASON TWO SEASON 2 SEASON FRICKING 2 OH MY GOD ITS RETURNINGGGHGGGGGGGGGGUHHHHG THANK YOU SWEET LORD TIME TO GET OUT OF MY CACOON WOOOHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
6:00 Sad to say, most of the programming they use in these slots for "special" games are predetermined. You were gonna get those 3 bronze apples the moment you pressed that spin button.
As a person who has been to Vegas, I can confirm there are slot machines right as you leave the plane. Also I think I know which buffalo slot machine james was talking about
So from what I understand in the unlikely event that I ever go into a casino, I should avoid the machines with computers, and also the card dealers. .... So in other words don't go to the casino.
That first animation just told me 3 things, he improved alot with animating because of his netflix show: TheOddballs Show (i think thats the title) 2: he’s practicing his animations on yt to see how we react since ye hasnt done that in awhile and 3: he’s seeing if we like it more than just idle/slight movements/animations
first time i ever played slots i set myself a budget of $20. my football teammate walked me through how to use the machine and i got slotting away. all of the old people around me obviously saw that it was my first time and multiple of them told me to never hop on a slot machine ever again. lost all of my money, probably the best outcome tbh
James: “You all should gamble so you learn first hand how stupid gambling is!” Me: *Distracted at how shiny James’ butt is* The entire animation team is doing AMAZING! I’m absolutely in awe of how well detailed every frame is! Casinos are just really pretty to look at😂
Im a maintenance tech at a casino and i see how addictive it is, we have people who are at the door a whole hour even before we open, people also get this glassy look in their eyes like they are affixed to the machine or something, i like my position because my whole job is taking care of the building so im able to seperate from the casino experience, and as well we aren't allowed to gamble at our own casino...
When I play slot machines, when I’m up, that’s usually when I cash out. I have surprisingly good luck with slot machines but I’ve gotten too greedy before and burned through all of my cash too.
As a (semi-)professional poker player who has played with two WSOP Main Event champions, a runner up, poker vloggers and a professional wrestler and has been to the WSOP, let me say this: No, I won't gamble everything on black 🤣
I noticed at the beginning it said 'Crown Bar!' The Crown is a real casino, bar, and hotel chain in Australia, one that is actually quite popular and very fancy! That said, they have been under some controversy as of late for being linked to criminal gangs and accusations of money laundering, which has caused some trouble in the company keeping its licenses. Either way, the Crown always has very nice establishments!
As somebody who noticed right away at 18 that I was prone to gambling addiction when I started having unhealthy thoughts at the scratchoff machine, you did a really good job portraying it. All the excuses and convincing yourself, it can become a really vicious cycle, especially when you use your debt as your new excuse for gambling cuz you gotta get outta debt somehow right? Luckily I had the self awareness and stepped back from it at 18 when I realized how much those scratch offs sink their hooks into me. I'm my mid 20s, and I've still never stepped foot inside a casino
@Cecilia Cardoso I wouldn't really call it progress as much as cutting it off before it became a real problem. I never let it get out of control. I only actually gambled for like 6 months, and it was never bad, but the amount I'd spend slowly increased month after month. Then the irrational "cmon I'm so close to a big hit, I can't stop now or somebody else is gunna get my jackpot" thoughts started getting stronger and more compelling, which made me realize that I'm just not the kind of person who can enjoy gambling casually. My best advice is to just know yourself as well as you possibly can, and don't lie to yourself. Then you can spot issues before they become serious
I used to work with people in financial difficulty, and so many lives were just ruined by gambling. I understand it can be fun, but that’s what makes it so dangerous.
As a nevadan, I can tell you this is true, first time I flew somwhere else I was surprised at the lack of slot machines, but please gamble in nevada, it's half of our economy.
"Opening up a booster pack and not getting any expensive cards....is like loosing your entire life savings" This quote embodies TCGs so well. And totally gives me Celebrations PTSD.
