@Sütiszörny I know Rick Rubin has butchered a bunch of shit. The production on Reign In Blood is almost perfect. It sounds heavy as hell (the production, if you don't like Slayer in general whatevs) The albums to complain about would be Californication, VOL 3, God Hates Us All , etc.

Born to push you around Better just stay down You pull away He hits the flesh You hit the ground Mouths so full of lies Tend to block your eyes Just keep them closed Keep praying Just keep waiting Waiting for the one The day that never comes When you stand up and feel the warmth But the sunshine never comes, no No, the sunshine never comes Push you 'cross that line Just stay down this time Hide in yourself Crawl in yourself You'll have your time God, I'll make them pay Take it back one day I'll end this day I'll splatter color on this gray Waiting for the one The day that never comes When you stand up and feel the warmth But the sunshine never comes Love is a four-letter word And never spoken here Love is a four-letter word Here in this prison I suffer this no longer I'll put an end to this, I swear This, I swear The sun will shine This, I swear This, I swear This, I swear

I thought the first 3 were great but I was very disappointed in 'Load' and 'Reload'. I like Ride the Lightning the best but Master of Puppets is very hard to beat. I didn't like this current song that much but once I heard the solos it reminded me of the Metallica of the 80s - great!

Magnetic tour they played the first 4 tracks off the album to kick off the show; great headbanging memories! 🤘

The first song I listen from Metallica was 30 seconds of Fight Fire With Fire back in 1986. It started nice classically bit then it turns into a kind of music I never heard before. I mean I already been listening to NWoBHM bands especially Iron Maiden, Saxons etc. Bands that influenced Metallica at the beginning but that first song was really a huge turn off for me. Only listen again in 88 when my dorm mate played the album again and Fade to Black was the first song I heard fully (I think). It was after that only I bought again Ride the Lightning together with Kill Em All and Master of Puppet and I totally hooked.

@Cloud They are not renowned for black album, they are a thrash and heavy metal band that influenced heavy metal music in the eighties.. that’s why black album is hated by many metal heads in general.
In your honour💗 SHAWN
@Cloud Black album isn’t heavy metal 😅😅. It’s so overrated!. MOP, Lightening, justice are all equally topple over that record in a mile. It was a period where Metallica decided to change their sound, but lucky they have come back to their thrash metal.

After listening to Metallica for the better part of my life, I've now realised that it is indeed like a drug, and I am a slave to it. It's like each successive album is a new hit of the drug, but each one isn't quite the same as the first. It's become a game of chasing that original high, which is now just a memory of how good it was, and feeling has never been the same since. Yet I still can't give it up, and I chase each hit in the hope that I find that original high.

@Jallu Siepponen the solo - typical pentatonic licks plus three notes appergios. It needed way more work. It sounds so lazy. RTL solos are amazing though. MOP have some cool solos and thereBlack are some bluesy gems on Black and Load albums like sad but true and Bleeding me. Not fan of ajfa and kea solos.
Levy Burns
Levy Burns 2 anos atrás
@Jallu Siepponen You're dead wrong and piss ignorant. Listen to "No Life Till Leather." It's the Kill Em All demo recorded right before they kicked Dave out and hired Kirk. Identical album with the exception of one solo on 4 horsemen, which at that time was still "The Mechanix." Key difference is Dave is substantially faster than Kirk, although sounds nowhere as good due to it being a demo.
Jallu Siepponen
Jallu Siepponen 2 anos atrás
@Levy Burns Solowise, not so much. Some riffs are Mustaines like four horsemen., but all solos Kirk play are composed by him. And don't get me wrong, i like Mustaines playing and have studied Friedmans solos a lot.

This Video is excellent because it tells a story of humanity and touch spirits and souls. Not to be brainwashed to think that everyone is out to get you. In all aspects of life there are hostile people but you must gaze into the eyes of everyone and discern who is and who is not and at sometime you must wake up and understand a whole race of people are not evil, even an Evil man who is injured from war feels love before he dies.

Metallica is a 30+ year Masterclass in the evolution of a band. Recently watched a live show from 1987 and then this live performance. They have covered the spectrum of Rock-N-Roll. Grateful to have been on this ride since 1988, still remember the moment I was introduced to ...And Justice for All. I think even the less the stellar albums, Fuel and St. Angered for example, have faired better with time.
