@Jason G Heights of stupidity! The whole conclusion is drawn after what happened in the entire 90 mins of play minus this one controversial goal and Yes this one goal kicked Germany out after they scored 4-2 against Costa Rica. Else based on goal difference Germany would have qualified. If that much is your trouble, there wouldn't be a discussion if Japan had scored a clean third goal. There is no end if you think of endless possible game scores. What is controversial will attract questions on the end results. Period
@ash ric Who's to say if they disallowed that goal japan wouldn't have kept attacking and scored another, you do realize it changed the whole team strategy don't you? you can't just take a team out for a controversial goal and really if you watch 3:04 it looks like it's in.. Angles can play tricks on a call as close as this.
It’s crazy how Japan wasn’t able to score for almost 50 minutes then all of a sudden they got 2 back to back goals and had crazy unrelenting defense until the end of the game. Truly an incredible team.
@Arthur Prince Of course not. What I meant is that Moriyasu used both first halves to test the opponents and his own team based on his initial game plan, no changes, and then in the second halves he corrected very fast with tactical changes the other team might not have expected. I just watched this analysis also showing this: brvid.net/video/video-Pu1orJn_Bg4.html
Happy to see Asian and African teams do so well against the usual power teams, special kudos to Japan known for their disciplined play and their focus on honor, hope they go all the way.
@Heyhey Yoyo which is why i said I’m proud of Japan and their performance. Did i talk Mexico’s performance? No i didnt. All i mentioned was that i was a FAN, and showing love for Japan. Read before replying😂💀
Almost shed a tear with the Japanese fan, happy Japan completed their breakthrough. They wanted to make it to 16, you could tell. Who knows what the future holds but in 2022, its their time!
@SCPython Spain lacks finishers other than morata. With their rate of possession they should be scoring 3 goals per game. Their defense is not as good as when Puyol, piqué were at their best. Both offense and defense are average at best.
Japan has improved over the years. What’s different now? Japan plays with passion and determination now. They didn’t have this much grit before. This is what makes football an amazing sport. Thank you Japan!
Japan arguably had one of the toughest groups of the tournament, and came out on top. No matter what happens after this, this is an incredible achievement. Congrats!
@Alex Obando it’s sad that you can’t respect someone’s culture. It’s even more sad that you’re super offended over people liking “cartoons” as you so called them. You’re saying we’re children when you’re literally throwing a tantrum over it like a child. The irony…
That second goal from Japan getting challenged even with Japans players unsure of the goal shows how incredible of an angle it was even with the ball rolling almost out of bounds.
@Lunar Day This video were you found my comment, has a slow motion angle of the ball and you keep saying there is no evidence. How about you find my first comment that will help you. Also a ball has the figure of sphere who would have thought. And the last thing, emotions your the one who can see this as a game.
@Alexbioshock76 You need to stop using bias and emotion to think. There is no angle at all to prove the ball was completely out. And a round object is called a sphere not a ball.
@Lunar Day I don't need to know all that math and extra information to know what a round thing, that is called a ball is, and also what happens when it crosses the line. You need to stop taking this like is a math test and just look at it like a game. And yes check your eyes because the ball was clearly shown out of bound in the video, in slow motion and everything, if you can't accept that then good for you.
@Alexbioshock76 my eyes are fine, but you need to learn basic point of perspective. A round object will often look further than it is based on the angle you perceive the largest point of the sphere (circumference). Adding that to the fact that the ball is sphere and not a cube with the fifa rule being the entire ball must cross the line, not just the circumference. There is no angle that shows were the ball truly is. Assist ref never saw it fully cross + no reply proof of the ball crossing = ball is in
Japan deserve to go all the way. Not only have they built their soccer organization on blood sweat and tears they have shown the love and passion that the beautiful game is all about.
It really is crazy when you look back on where their program was just 10 years ago. They were nobodies in international football. To think that they would not only advance but all-out *win* their group with Spain and Germany in it is mind-blowing. I really hope they can build on this
@Miss Jaimie Winston Mukbang Jr. III Esq. so your telling me that Spain risked getting eliminated from wc just because they're scared of Germany?? delusional lmao
I am so happy for them, I thought they just got lucky against Germany, but this match shows that the Japanese are not to be underestimated this time around!
I have chills, this is playing with heart ❤ out of the huddle, all of them sprinting to pressure, keeping the ball in play, and score 2 goals to win. Congrats Japan! 🇯🇵
Congratulations to Japan. Is always a treat to see a team so compromise. Very disciplined and organized. But that ball from Japan second goal was outside. VAR a bit wonky.
This world cup is so unbelievably good and Japan made history for winning against German and Spain and took the number one spot in that group, very impressive.
@Street travel that’s the most dumbest explanation I’ve seen. You guys over analyze things way too much. The ball completely crossed the line, simple as that.
@Mom’s spaghetti the ball is a sphere so if the base of the ball is completely out the center of the ball can still be touching the line in this case it was a close one but u can see it barely touches since the field has an invisible line that goes up in the air.
Japan has an incredible speed. You can’t get too confident playing against them. They don’t play to just make a beautiful performance, they play fearlessly to win no matter who the opponent might be. It’s like they would rather run out of breath than slow down… 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Brazilian dude in here. If Brazil doesn’t make it, I’m for Japan!
Mexican here and Man!!! Japan is for sure one of my Favs in this WC! Super fast team and never give up on any play !! They just don’t give up !! Hopefully they make it far in the knock out stage rooting for them! Very exciting, skilled team !
@SUPLEX CITY from the top down view it was stated 1 millimeter of the ball was within the white line so it was not out. Ik it’s crazy but the ball wasn’t out
I cried when japan lost against belgium in 2018.. they were 2 up and beligium scored 3 in the second half. I knew japan was definitely capable of beating top class teams so i'm so happy they beat germany AND spain. Praying they beat Croatia and go to the finals, that would be insane...
So much heart has shown and the desire to win this game. It was amazing how Japan's defenses were unbreakable even while they were sprinting like blazing bullets in synchronization. Congratulations Japan!
3:21 Bobby Lee shedding tears of joy for a lifelong rival. But really, Japan is slow to start but super patient and highly adaptable to change. They may make it all the way
If you think Japan's second goal is out, watch this video from FIFA. This looks out from a side angle, but from above it is judged to be in-field. brvid.net/video/video-zuz9D41TxoA.html
@I Speak Portuguese 🗣️ yea bye bye Germany of course. Ref just gifted second goal to Japan. Look at the replay and you will see that the ball crossed the line. But I guess you are happy cuz there won't be another 7-1
@Rolling Rizzo from the top down view it was stated 1 millimeter of the ball was within the white line so it was not out. Ik it’s crazy but the ball wasn’t out
i agree they deserved to win and did a great job in the group but spain wasnt really trying to win this one, it was in our best interest to lose and let germany get eliminated so we could go on to play morocco
Tbh, no. I was definitely rooting for Japan, they are fun to watch and deserved to go through over Germany. However, seeing a r16 matchup of Morroco vs Costa Rica is terrible. You want some big teams like Spain to go through so the games are still entertaining.
I’m from Brazil here and I want to congratulate the blue samurai’s for this beautiful comeback. Well done boys. It’s a step by step process. This is what happens when you play the game with passion. Congrats
Mixed feeling Iran got eliminated; sad for players and happy for people. But I am super excited for Japan and S. Korea. Well done. I really hope both teams make it to quarter finals and beyond. You are both giant killers.
