Since you kept referencing the iPhone's 48MP camera, it probably would have made sense to compare it to the Samsung's 50MP mode rather than the 200MP mode. The 50MP mode performs a lot better than the 200MP mode in terms of things like processing time, and I would have been genuinely curious to see how they stack up for daylight photography when MPs are more comparable.

I partially agree with this video. I must say that the iPhone never underperforms as heavily in some categories than the Galaxy, but Galaxy's overall colour palette and my needs as a consumer (being that I take many portrait mode photos and photos in good lightning; mostly during daytime) I will still probably be pick the Galaxy. As an S23U user. Looking at the features and advancements of the iPhone 15, it seems predictable that the Samsung S24 will also follow Apple path. So I do a lot of photography with both my 23 ultra and my pixel 7 pro, haven't gotten my hands on a 15 pro max to be able to compare myself yet, but for my uses (mostly vehicle photography and night sky shots) the s23 ultra has been the best for me, night sky shots I will say the pixel takes the lead on, but the s23 is pretty damn close. But having that 3x lens is perfect, as it is the best zoom to get pictures of cars, without taking any quality hit. I also do some nature photography, and the 200mp camera has helped out a lot with that, the amount of detail is amazing, and has wonderful end results, but mostly only if it is close, within 3-5 feet, then it starts to not be as good

I had the opportunity to use the S23U for a couple months as I swapped from the 12 pro max to the S23, and recently swapped back to the 14 pro max, and now 15 pro max. Ignoring my terrible financial decisions, I was pretty impressed with both the iPhone and Samsung. What I loved about the Samsung over the iPhone was the manual modes for the camera. On the 50mp mode, I took some phenomenal photos of the night sky that absolutely beat the iPhone, and even at a chance against my own DSLR. Having full control over the camera was pretty neat. However, I wasn’t a fan of having to log into the phone to open proraw, especially when I’m camping, my phone is in and out of my pocket and usually slightly dirty hands. For me - an inconvenience. Not a bad camera! Just didn’t fully line up with what I needed. Back to the iPhone and I can appreciate how quickly and smoothly it works. I recently went camping and rode around in the sand and the action video was remarkably smooth but also crisp. They’re both fantastic. But the iPhone was better for me. If Apple would allow some third party apps to have full control of the camera, notably proraw 48mp with full iso and shutter control; that would satisfy everything I need.

For this comparison to be fair, the S23U"s software should have been updated, the last couple of software updates have considerably improved photo quality. You can tell the phone's on an older software because in Portrait & photo mode it doesn't have a shortcut to 2X zoom, which is present on current software and takes a crop from the 200Mpx sensor.

The s23u really does a great job with massive pops of colour that makes things look better than life - almost like they are edited. I personally really love that, and i find people are blown away by this phones photos. I wish there was a way to make colours stronger on the iphone

I’m still in awe at the sheer fact that a camera smaller than a palm of a hand can give such a precise and detailed photo, yes most proper cameras are much better, but the fact that such a small camera fit inside a phone not made just for photos (although one of the main features is obviously the camera), it’s definitely not the only thing built into these pretty small phones. And the camera itself for its size, is absolutely astonishing for me

If i was in Samsungs shoes, i would leave the phone design exactly the same! It is just soooo good there is no need for a change at least for one more generation. I'm impressed. The biggest improvement I observed is in the iPhone's noise reduction, which kinda took em years to finally do something about it. I still see it as too close to call. Both have their good points. You tend to point out iPhone pluses in a picture, like more stars, and ignore the minuses like the tree in the same photo. I do like iPhones ability to get colors right in low light. Samsung really needs to work on this. And I think the 3x and 10x is a better system than the 5x. But it really depends on what you typically shoot in this case. I think is is easier to punch up the colors in an iPhone post processing than to back them down from the Samsung. But if you don't want to do any post processing, then you probably prefer the Samsung. Samsung needs to back down the the color just a touch.

Been using both and both have problems. Grey blacks on Samsung are obviously coming from shadow recovering, easy to fix, edit photos and increase contrast. High noise is actually result from oversharpening which is awful on Samsung. However, portrait mode on Iphone is usless ( Imean works only in bright daylight), phone can't detect what is supposed to be blurred, so constantly ask to move closer just to say you are too close. Samsung phones started doing it after they switched to 100mpx sensors, but still can be worked around by just taking camera off the subject and back on. Still, not as good as it was with Note 9.

Would have been interested in seeing Samsungs 50mp option included in this comparison too. Ultimately though I think these camera comparisons are becoming less and less relevant. They are both more than enough for 90% of users and the day to day shooting they'll do. And if you're someone who's actually pixel peeping and looking at colour correction etc., then you're probably not shooting auto mode anyway and better of shooting manual/RAW and editing colour/light yourself.

I am certain this is the closest Samsung has ever been to the newly released iPhone in terms of camera performance in a very long time. Most of the years I would expect a complete wipe-off of Samsung by Apple and even though the score is still very much reminiscent of the results of previous years' camera comparisons, the performance difference when it comes to each mode is a lot less significant than it used to be. In most of the previous years, I would expect a certain feature (video for example) to be a no-brainer when it came to the comparison as the iPhone made the Samsung look like it was multiple generations behind, but now, honestly, even though the iPhone still wins, the gap is a lot less than it used to be (except for in low light performance - which is atrocious on Samsung's part 💀). I believe it is a testament to how seriously Samsung has taken it upon themselves to improve the camera performance (especially video) on their flagship and this is reflected in the path the company has taken when comes to the more superficial things, such as design for example. Just use what works. The s22 looked pretty sleek and there would be nothing that they would try and change about that design instead focusing on where they've been lacking for the past several years.

The evolution of smartphone notches has been quite interesting over the years. iPhones introduced the concept of notches, setting a trend that Android devices quickly followed. However, Android took it a step further, refining the design by making the notches smaller and introducing innovative variations like the tear-drop notch and punch-hole camera displays. Interestingly, Apple chose not to directly copy Android's advancements and stuck with their notch design for a while. To cover up, they introduced a feature that some critics argue was more of a gimmick than an innovation: the "dynamic island," which, when you think about it, is essentially a stretched-out pattern resembling a punch-hole camera. iphone never want to accept defeat and come up with bullshit stuff to keeps the fools occupied for a couple of years, literally any android phone can have a dynamic island anywhere on their screen 😂

Samsung offers flattering selfies but lacks in video quality. 02:07 🔍 iPhone and Samsung's zoom capabilities differ. iPhone excels in video zoom, Samsung has moments of better photo zoom, but iPhone's wider aperture wins in low light. 03:45 📱 Camera app experience: Samsung's app offers more features but feels clunky. iPhone app has better integration and an action button, but can be fiddly. 06:05 🎤 Audio quality: Both phones capture sound well, but Samsung reduces background noise, sacrificing some lower tones. iPhone captures natural richness but more background noise. 07:56 🖼️ Portrait mode: iPhone offers 24 MP resolution in portraits, allowing better detail. iPhone also allows applying portrait mode after taking the photo, a feature lacking in Samsung. 08:09 🎥 Special features: Both phones offer cinematic mode, slow-mo, and macro mode. Samsung slightly wins in slow-mo, but both are equal in macro capabilities. 10:59 🎥 Video quality: iPhone excels in video HDR, detail, skin tones, and low-light performance. Samsung's video sometimes suffers from grain in low light. 13:06 🌃 Low light performance: iPhone's Smart HDR balances complex lighting scenarios well. iPhone's 24 MP mode captures more detail, especially in low light, giving it an edge. 15:00 ☀️ Daytime photos: iPhone's 24 MP main camera offers more detail and clarity whenzoomed in, giving it an advantage in most daytime photography situations. 16:38 📱 Overall winner: iPhone 15 Pro Max offers superior camera performance with significant improvements in various aspects, making it the better choice in this comparison. The S23 Ultra takes pretty good daytime picks at 50MP which are often better than default 12mp picks. i.e. less compression or jagged edges from over sharping. The 50MP photos are also better than the 200MP photos Samsung should take apples lead and make 50mp the default resolution. I would have liked to see comparisons between 24MP vs 50MP and 48MP vs 50MP. Oh, and we forget that HEIF format is not widely supported on non Apple devices and require exporting as JPG.

I hope this would not increase the price tag. Currently Samsung outsource a lot of its software to google/alphabet by using Android. This is what allows them to spend more money on the hardware.

I would imagine it's gonna be a similar situation. Samsung seems to be somewhat slow when it comes to the camera when compared to Iphone and other Android phones.

Most of the times I did prefer how the colors look on the s23 but samsung is still very behind iPhone when it comes to video and audio quality however both phones look great and the avarge user doesn't really notice all these details and for the not so avarage user both options are still great and it was a bit biased to give the camera app point to iPhone when samsungs had like 2x more features and tweaks and users like features most of the times I actually find out new features when im bored and using my phone that I've owned for quite a bit and still get shocked like "oh I can do this" it's such a nostalgia.

I didn’t realise how “fake” the Samsungs photo and videos were till now! They change the colours to look “poppy” sooo much! Whereas Apple shows it as it is which I personally appreciate more, any things I want changed I can do myself afterwards until then I’d prefer as close of a resemblance to what I’m looking at for my photos and videos

I've noticed that BRvidrs who discuss mobile phone video recording never mention the jittery effect that occurs when panning left to right. It seems that the phone camera's shutter speed may be the culprit. It's frustrating to see video examples that are either in slow motion or completely still like a webcam, as this doesn't accurately represent the normal video experience. It's crazy that phone manufacturers or reviewers aren't being honest about this common issue when promoting new models. Personally, the jittery effect makes me feel dizzy. It would be great if someone could ever address this problem.

Honestly a draw for me. I prefer Samsung's colours though. Iphone definitely has an aestheticly pleasing design and has great cameras but it doesn't make sense when you're not in their ecosystem. Maybe in a couple of years i'll order the Iphone15 but I just ordered the S23.

For a second I was afraid that you're going to completely skip the higher resolution mode on S23U and I was nearly right. Nearly, because you've only mentioned about the 200MP mode when in reality there's also a 50MP mode which is superior (in my opinion as a user) to both standard 12MP and the high-res 200MP. It's my default mode for daytime pictures because of the added detail when compared to 12MP mode. It still takes a few seconds for the phone to process the picture but IMO 50MP mode is the perfect balance between quality of pictures, size of sized image and time this phone needs to process the image before it's accessible. I believe that comparing standard 24MP mode on iPhone to 50MP mode on Samsung could slightly change the result and overall comparison.

That is the truth, but whisper it on here as there are lot of Apple people out here riding the wave of excitement of a new IPhone release. Bless them..😅😅

@@neilmcguinness4422 YEah apple might have paid them some...every little thing apple come up with is a huge news for em evenif its 5 year old thing or sth....he intentionally forgot the 50MP mode which could have brought major changes and still no mention from him he s born iphone. no wonder

@@baslielayalew5203 Give it time for the IPhone 15 sales to climb as they will, and then wait for the more neutral reviews to hit. Along with the inevitable reports of glitches and bugs and problems. It is always the same with every IPhone.

to be honest as a regular user s23 ultra pics just look better i don't care about the fine details you need a nice pic you get it thats what matters maybe it would be different for photographers but for the normal person i'd choose the s23 as for cameras and for the phone as a whole

As a tattoo artist, with mostly indoor lit evening photos of tattoos, as phone cameras have gotten better, they have gotten worse for tattoos, higher res picking up more glare and skin texture than our eyes and making the tattoos harder to read. With my new iPhone 15 pro, it seems to have taken some of that out and given some closer to what I’m seeing in person images. Huge step forward for us tattoo artists at least! I also came from a Samsung s21 Ultra.

I don't think you mentioned that the iPhone 15 Pros' video recording glitch still exist from 13 and 14 Pros' As you're recording and when you move closer to the subject, there's still that 'skipping' effect when the phone changes lens to keep the object in focus... Also, has Apple fixed the 'no pause' option when you're recording a video on the stock iOS?

@user-uc2ke2me6q That's why I unsubscribed because he's always biased with Apple products. 💯 Just look at how many subscribers Apple have compared to Android... I think not to offend any Apple fan boys and girls as he's trying to overtake Apple subscribers (he mentions that in his videos)... 😅

@user-uc2ke2me6q I think he explains in his own little way to make sure Apple products (eg, I tried switching from iPhone to Samsung [he didn't even choose the S23 Ultra] & Mac vs Windows video) to make sure the Mac Book Air is superior...
