We ain't black blank bland bleak bleach blond Blanco blanc blackout bla bla bla Websters Dic we be Indigenous American Indian and you invadedour Land!!!!!!
I’m so glad Ellen showed the kids space because most of these home tours leave out the kids spaces. They are so important in facilitating imaginations and playtime. Very cool layout and views!
@ANNAMIEK NU tarot & zo I´m pretty sure it´s because they don´t live there. It´s just for fun/holidays/special events. If you have such a big house, you have multiple.
@Nerd Huh? How could it possibly not be applicable? It's not some obscure sexual thing, LOL, it's a pretty basic and ubiquitous part of all human interaction.
@Divina and it’s disgusting. You can’t tattoo your child, but you can allow them to have gender reassignment surgery, life altering puberty blockers, and opposite sex hormones. What a time we live in. 🙄
One of my favorite lines on the show is when Callie asks Meredith if anyone has ever thought she and Cristina were in a couple, and Mer goes, “No, because we screw boys like whores on tequila.” (And then we either try to marry them or drown ourselves)
Because it implies a drinking problem. All the latest science informs the public that alcohol is toxic to the body and brain. Spect radiography shows how alcohol consumption like this can make a scan of the drinker’s brain look like someone with dementia…check out Dr Daniel Amen videos for some insight.
I LOVE this house. Especially the guest room with all of the black representation and impactful moments they’ve had throughout history. She really seems to love her children so much 🥹
Seeing Ellen outside of Grey's Anatomy, I really admire how much of herself she brings to the role. I love that she gets to play a role that I feel really embodies her personality and beliefs.
@Andrea Marquez Spicy! Others have said in this thread that the word has nothing to do with slavery, I just looked it up and apparently it was first used in the 20th century, so the context seems a bit random. 🤷♀
the part where Ellen "banishes" her kids to sit on the 3 chairs with that ocean view to curb their social media usage made me laugh. Wonderful actress and sad to know she's leaving Grey's but excited to see her next projects. =)
I love everything about this house- exterior design, interior furnishings and decor. I think it's especially noteworthy that it's not what you'd typically expect from a California beach house- mid century structure with a lot of dark, rich colors.
I like how she mentioned the ocean environment destroyed the old house so she pretty much had to rebuild from the start. Didnt realize that happened though i know they have to repaint bridges over oceans constantly cause of the corrosion.
Can we talk about the DYNAMIC DESIGN DUO OF ELLEN AND MARTIN???!!! EVERY SINGLE TIME these two work together on her homes, they knock it STRAIGHT OUTTA THE BALLPARK!!!!!!! Waiting on a coffee table book from these two on the homes that he's done with her!
I love how this is both a piece of art and a homey house. Equally! As a parent you don’t have to scarify one for the other. And yes she’s lucky she doesn’t know half of us, we’d all be there dancing and drinking tequila with just lime! 😂😂
This is my favorite episode I have ever seen. She is so relatable and real. Granted she is a rich celebrity, she comes off like a mom showing her home. Not a snob showing off. I love her beautiful home!
Fantastic! Really enjoy the personality in this home’s interior design. The exterior looks stunning against the lush green lawn and the ocean in the foreground. ✨
I love how she simply explains her household's little and relevant stories whilst describing the whole home tour. Love her vibe and sweet smile. The best part of this home is the wooden pieces that add so much coziness:)
This might be my favorite AD Open Door ever - Ellen you need to host and lead more architectural tours (of any space). What great commentary and so authentic!
Honestly- this has been one of my favourite episodes. So much personality in the details. Ellen Pompeo's curated choices and story telling really make it feel so personable and lived in. Very refreshing to see so much colour!!
Why does it matter so much if someone is fake in a media interview though? If putting on a bit of a mask helps someone keep their private life protected from their public life, that seems extremely healthy to me.
What a beautiful beach house . You just can't help but to love her. She is so creative, smart and down to earth and a Great mother. Plus I love that she loves tequila in real life too cuz we all know that's her go to drink and Gray's anatomy.
That dining room is so lovely simple and beautiful. The dark colors are also very interesting. I think the kids room is also very well done. Great house.
I love how honest she was about things like the heating issue with the marble tub - something I never considered and will definitely keep in mind for future decisions. Also underlines that she actually lives in and uses all parts of her house - I loved this (and her)!
This house is just so beautiful...and money CANNOT BUY TASTE. But she's blessed with both taste and money. Freaking stunning. A work of ART...gorgeous!!
I so respect Ellen’s intentional representation of Black art and creativity in her home for her children’s cultural development. The house is a whole vibe😎 Beautiful!
@junbh2 Ellen has this weird obsession with black people. I know her husband is black, but it goes much further than that. She's pretty creepy about it considering that she's white. There's plenty of videos on BRvid of her talking about black people and getting really emotional. It's... strange.
@Rebecca This is a lie. Where can you learn about white people?? Do white people have an entire month dedicated to their history? That's what I thought.
I do love the historic photos, yeah. I did find it a bit interesting she didn't seem to feel any need to also teach her kids about the other half of their history, since half of their family and ancestors are european, but that may be just the reality of being mixed race in the US. She may just feel like her kids will already learn plenty about that side of their history everywhere they go?
I just watched Grey's anatomy last week up until the latest episode. Sheeezzz, I fell in love with her. And gladly, I had this opportunity to see her beach house because of AD. Thanks. Super love it ❤️
Just gorgeous! And I love how you have pictures of strong noteworthy people who happen to be black. Three of our four adult children are married to black partners, and I too feel it important to have pictures of black people in their homes.
They way that Ellen mentions the tequila and limes!! LOL🤣 After watching the interview where Dakota Johnson admitted that set dressing put limes in her kitchen but she's actually allergic to them, I can't help but wonder what is actually staged and what these celebs actually have in their homes. Anyways, this was a lovely tour and Ellen is such a joy!
I apluad you for putting this together! With everything going on right now, the best decision to be on any creative man's heart is having a profitable investment strategy.
Wow! I invest and buy cryptocurrencies but Mostly waiting for the rise to sell, but currently am at lost due to the current downfall in price of crypto currencies. This is a great opportunity for me to start my trading crypto so i can regain the money I have lost.
Fergus waylen is taking the level of trading from end goal of not just making money but really to be able to understand yourself and the money becoming the after-effect. Loaded with experience and maturity!
Amazing, it's nice to see others who work with Sir Fergus waylen. He's a very sincere person and understands the difficulties faced by new traders.I'm a citizen of the United kingdom and I'm proud of the success we're making in the crypto world.
This is one of the best houses I have seen on AD. Gorgeous structure, brilliant mix of materials in the interiors and love the way they have used green in their entire home.
You have a beautiful house! I have a question. I know you are ready to close the door to Grey's Anatomy, and I understand! If the other characters in the show want to continue on, I'm not ready to close those doors yet. I for one want to see what Izzy and Alex are doing, and some of your regulars! If they are interested couldn't they carry on and tell some more stories. I am a die hard fan.
I LOVED this episode! I love how intentional Ellen and Martin were with their use of both materials and color. Also, Ellen's commentary and easy-going personality made it so pleasant to watch ❤
Not my style of decor but its definitely stylish with gorgeous art. It feels unique and personal- not copied. She is legit cool. I love the way she talks about her kids, so real.
I just love love love this beach house, everything about it: and the views/outdoor space, the bedrooms and the decor; amazing 🤩. I should adopt her kitchen rules (if mine would listen 😆).Thanks for sharing.
