Take anabolika and good doping. That is winners made.

Why would you ever help someone else make history? Seems pointless when your own name will be forgotten.

Actually the Kipchoge marathon in Vienna, Austria, of 1:59:40 does not count as a new marathon record. No proper rules were followed. It is simply not an official record.

It is simple practise. When we was a kid going to school he had to run from the wild animals in the jungle, year after another and you see the result.

I haven't watched the video, I'm assuming he's gone into detail about the guys shoes? They have three metallic blades in them that assist you with your running, infact they've been investigated and deemed to give such an advantage that they've been banned. Infact a shoe with two blades is also banned in official races. Don't get me wrong the guy is still an animal but running with those shoes and all the pacers seems like it's a strange run to me

It's so insane that such a huge % of the population will never even come close to a 4:xx mile and this dude can do 26 in a row. I think training at higher elevations has to make a massive difference and explains why he doesn't look winded at all at the end.

mad respect he did it. but damn with a bunch of support. lets see him run it by himself. I want to see the individual not the complex grouping of MANY supporting him. at most water along the way. I as an observer will NEVER say he did that record. I will if i gave enough shit go through and give EVERY one who helped him more recognition than I give him. As soon as you claim that place and you dont immediately concede it wasnt possible until your team came into play than go ahead and give them copies of the same medal hell your favorite team member the medal itself. He is nothing considering those accomplishments by himself. Ofcourse we all have a team but damn so obviously and so upfront and fuck you I need training wheels to get this and we all praise him?????

This is just unbelievable. It seems that we will need 2 Kipchoge level champions to do this without the technical assistance of the windbreaks + ideal conditions.

Hi OK 3 dias atrás
As a former high school runner, running on the treadmill and running on pavement are two completely different things. I was able to go 10 miles at 7 minute mile pace for practice no problem, but on a treadmill I struggle to go two miles at supposedly 8 minute pace Needless to say the treadmill comparison is not really a good or accurate reflection of what the marathon runner could probably do. I’d be surprised if he couldn’t last at least half a mile (2 minutes) at that pace. I was able to.

This is an amazing thing to accomplish; however, he was speeding up in the end and still standing after. This means that he did not give it his all and he could beat his record by giving his all. I believe that, even at his age, he could achieve something similar to the 1:57:58, "limit."

So, the 2 hour marathon, the greatest solo achievement of any athlete, was done by dozen of athletes and hundreds of helpers. You asked what can be considered human limit, well, this is not inside that limit. This is like Niel Armstrong landed on the moon, the literal hundred thousand or more people who made it possible, just forget about them, they are not a single, sellable name.

You guys are looking at exactly what made Humans into hunting machines. There is no animal on earth that can outpace a human, There are faster animals sure, but none of them can out pace a human in long distance. He is like a prototype of the original humans.

if he followed other elite athletes to keep his pace.. They were always in front of him,it means that one of them would have been able to do the same sub 2 hours? In the thumbnail we see them behind, they slowed down it seems.

I just like how at 6:48, Mike has a longer stride than the tall guy running afterwards ;) Or maybe the treadmil isn't long enough for him.. but it's still funny seeing a tall guy with long legs run with small baby steps ;)

The best mile I ever ran was just under 6 minutes (i.e. 10 mph). It was one of the most exhausting and demanding 6 minutes of my life. I never tried to run 13+ mph like this guy and can't imagine I would last more than 20 seconds even when I was in my prime. Respect to this guy and those who supported him to keep that pace for almost 2 hours. A little trivia, he's 35 (born 1984) from Kenya and weighs ~120 pounds at 5'6" tall. Oh and he's the G.O.A.T. 😎
