In fact to much astonismhent a player tries to break his legs but Maradona dodges it. Th eplayer gets up and tries again (from behind). He almost succeeds. He now gets...a yellow card. I have never seen this happening once to Messi...So messi can run and dribble on and on and never has to adapt. Maradona becomes a hurdle runner because of all the attacks on his legs.... As to Portugal: Portugal has had Worldclass player for much longer than there ever was a C. Ronaldo. They always failed because of the coach. Every single coach bar one in 2000 are focussing on defending defending defending and yes...defending. And fortunately such a style never lead to any big titles. It is what stills hampers them. They should go for a coach that is fully on the attack. Most of all because Portuguese defenders have always been excellent so not much to worry about there. A downside of Portugal is that they do not have someone like Van Basten, Ibrahimovic, Bergkamp, Schillacci in 1990, Rossi in 1982 etc. Ronaldo has to be the dominant player in the centre field and the goal scorer.
fr bruh, and aguero also scored the 3rd goal with a brilliant header from a messi assist, was a nice cross and goal. they actually have good chemistry and aguero coulda played earlier, he can actually score good goals. dybala is also a decent mix of playermaker and goalscorer. messi dybala aguero. hmm not bad. and di maria. but aguero and dybala benched. argentina also got dominated, first goal was a hard strike, 2nd goal was lucky, and third goal was in stoppage time when it didnt matter. france first goal was a penalty ig but mbappe's run was insane, 2nd goal was a hard strike, third goal was a good mbappe shot but goalkeeper coulda blocked that, tbh mbappe shoulda shot beter, and france 4th goal was too good to do anything about it.
The game of the 2018 WC and one of the best of all times....it was THE game where the entire world discovered Mbappe (what a game..and he was only 18 !)...

Missing this fabulous match 4 years ago, I was in hostel during world cup 2018 & waiting for to see match for 4 Hours on that day because I was so excited to see Argentina match & left Tiffin evening time in dinning hall. Gathering fellows everywhere & looking straight forward on TV & cheering massively on the hall. On that time, I was intent that Argentina probably win but finally they lose from France. @Sagar Pandya Which you didn't, cos you stated it as a fact, but the fact is Di Maria probability is much higher to score, hence it cannot be a "better goal", it's not subjective. There's nothing wrong with personal "preference though", lower probability goal might be prettier for some ( or even most ), doesn't mean it's better.

Tomara que joguem esse ano de novo, pra mim a frança não teria a mesma sorte, essa Argentina de San Paoli era um pouco desorganizada, e mesmo assim a frança teve dificuldade pra vencer, a atual Argentina está muito forte e bem treinada por scaloni, acredito que se jogarem de novo a Argentina é favorita.

It looked like Messi had something going on with the team. That was the least assertive I've ever seen him play. He was one touch passing in several situations where he would normally dribble in and shoot. The same with the Croatia match.
I remember watching this with some friends from Argentina and after they lost I thought "man they lost like men, with their heads high, like a team, to the World Champions, there is nothing to be ashamed of".......NOPE, dude my Argentinian friends were not having it, "they were shit, fuck this" incredibly angry and mad. Thats when I understood that for Argentina its GOLD or NOTHING, thats their mentality....which is weird because they have 2 world cups and the last one was in '86 when the legend Maradona played. I felt this was the best game of that World Cup edition.

If I remember correctly Argentina did really well and I was dismayed by how little chance they actually stood against France. i was hoping for Argentina to win, but the French were really a class better. A very deserved winner of the cup to me. And I am surely a fan of France.
