Fun fact: Columbus wasn't the one to discover the Americas first, it was actually the Vikings specifically Erik, he was situated on Greenland and since Greenland is technically a part of the Americas it would have counted but he didn't stop there, he made peaceful trade and a colony on new foundland in Canada and you can even visit the ruins today after it was suspected the Vikings had poisoned the natives but in reality they had an allergic reaction to dairy.

@Uncle Turtle well I mean they were. The first people to get to the Americas would have gotten there when the bering strait existed, meaning this would have to have been during the paleolithic age. Way before any civilization existed let along nordic Vikings. Heck if we go by your time line then either native Americans are descendants of nordic Vikings or they just suddenly appeared in the Americas with unknown origin, both of which don't make sense

Thinking about that one time when we were in history class. We were learning about Columbus. And there was a picture of him arriving to "Asia" (I think) with his crew on the sand and black naked people hiding between trees . It was total silence, when someone in our class examined the picture, and went, "Look at those monkeys, guys!"
Human interactions with other cultures haven't all been awful. Even ones that were, varied by a significant amount. A lot of it depends upon Power Imbalance and having vastly different cultures. If one county or group of people were vastly more powerful, that creates a lot more issues. That or if they have some great weakness.
