I think Vogue has always been questionable when it would use 15 year old girls to model grown women's clothes, but it started to go really downhill when it started to go along with the rest of the dumbing down of societies, starting in the USA, where over hyped and talentless celebs are constantly forced in people's faces by the media. I think certain over hyped and talentless, but highly attention seeking families like Kardashians and Beckhams are used to dumb down society, so young people don't want to do more in life than make a living selling dumb stories to magazines about their designer handbag they can't pronounce the name of. In return for constant promotion more than they're worth. Even to the point of promoting their latest attention seeking schemes, such as clothes designer, they never spent a day working in or studying. Then the meaning of what's classy and stylish gets lowered in society to promote those people. We're now in a situation where cheap looking, orange wags with obvious fake chests they like showing off, are promoted as classy and stylish, and those people are usually so dumb, despite affording to give their children an expensive education, they don't usually have other options for their children than push them into the talentless celeb industry, to use them for their own attention.

@peps She's not appropriating at all. I'm Chinese. This dress was by a famous Chinese haute couturier, not a Western person first of all. In addition, the depictions and style of the dress are purely aesthetic in Chinese culture and have no association with religion nor higher cultural significance. She is also not wearing it as a parody or with an ignorance of deeper implications.
