@Oscar Arias - Check Hank Aaron's and Willie Mays' production at 39, 40, 41, and 42. They weren't bombers, but they could still jack the ball. Do you think they were juiced, too? If it's proven Pujols is spiking his orange juice, let me know and I'll personally apologize to you. Just don't expect one. 🙂

@topgunsam Out of the 20,000 or so people who have ever played Major League Baseball, only *4 have hit 700 or more home runs. Pujols is jacked indeed but all players are tested. As it stands now, he is clean so no reason to believe otherwise unless it becomes revealed that he is on something. *One of those 4, Barry Bonds, did in fact admit to taking steroids. Because this, his record is tainted. His defenders will say that steroids don't help you hit a baseball which might be true but they can turn pop outs into home runs and give a dude in his late 30s the recovery time from workouts and injuries as if he were a 10 years younger.
sadbravesfan 2 meses atrás
@Eric Brown as a Braves fan who lives in L.A., your perspective is warped. Actually attend a game at Dodger Stadium and enjoy getting peanuts thrown on you by someone's kid for multiple innings, the parents doing nothing, then when you finally say something they try to fight you for asking the kid to stop. And of course wearing another team's stuff everyone else who now becomes aware automatically assumes you're the one who's in the wrong.

at 7:05 he looks at the Dodger bench and expresses his gratitude and appreciation to them. It was the Dodgers who believed in him when they made the call to his agent after the Angels released him. Most in baseball thought he was done and in his own words it was the Dodgers who brought the kid and spark back to the game of baseball for him. He succeeded with them last year and honestly I think he did well enough to get one last contract with his original team. He reaches the 700 club wearing a Cardinals uniform at Dodger stadium where the fans understood the moment and reciprocated the appreciation. Shakespeare couldn't have written a better story then this. Congratulations Albert "Tio" Pujols for reaching that incredible milestone.

@cardsfan1590 Yeah, he's not getting 600AB's, hitting .325/35hr/130rbi, and playing a damned good defensive 1st base every day like he was in the 00's. His swing is nowhere as quick, he's not driving the ball all over the yard like he used to (that's what is crazy is he wasn't ever a home run hitter, just one of the best line-drive hitters to ever play the game... gonna run into quite a few long balls a season with his numbers though) My ONLY doubt is whether MLB is making guys tip pitches since this was the biggest positive story in baseball since maybe the Sosa/Big Mac battle 24 years ago. People knew Bonds was juicing when he was shattering records, Miggy's triple crown was fantastic, as was Otani's 2021, but I didn't hear anyone that wasn't a baseball fan talk about those seasons/events, yet my mom and people I work with that don't watch sports have been watching every Cards game just for Albert's AB's. It's almost too good to be true for MLB given their attendance is in the gutter and sentiment toward the league itself is as low as it's been since the steroid era due to all of the bs rule changes, cheating scandals, etc. But I'm trying to keep my cynicism towards MLB and Manfred out of it and telling myself this was just a Cinderella ending to the career of one of the best ball players of all time.

As a Braves fan, that was absolutely beautiful. The swing, the skill and right attitude. Albert is all class! Congratulations #5! 🙌

Everybody being on their feet for the 700 at bat was so awesome. I got chills when he smacked that ball. Unreal. True legend

Some of my earliest memories with my dad were at old and new Busch stadium watching Albert Pujols, Jim Edmonds, Yadier Molina, and so many more. As a cardinal fan we’ve been so lucky and spoiled to have had the team that we do. My dad getting to watch guys like Ozzy Smith, Stan Musial, Bob Gibson etc. and now getting to see Albert make history. I’m glad my dad and I got to witness that together. The St.Louis cardinals have been and always will be a huge part of my family.
