My British girlfriend started watching football with me and that NW game was one of the first she got to see. I don't think she realized how ludacris it was to see someone break a standing single game rushing record but she knew for sure something different was happening. I remember taking a piss and she started laughing and shouting saying that same guy just ran halfway down the field when he had that big run from the endzone. That dude just puts everything he has into his runs and I knew he'd be better than Teague if we gave him time to heat up. It's a shame what happened in the league but hopefully he recovers he runs with mad energy.
This win felt a lot like when we beat Alabama. Getting over that Clemson hump felt so good. It sucks Fields got so banged up during this game and sermon got injured during the natty but this absolute butt whooping felt damn good regardless of Alabama destroying us after this.
You must not be that old. Alabama's Smith, was more than Ohio State could handle. Smith, Metchie and Harris were better and proved it by curb stomping The Ohio State 52-24.

Also why has Ohio State never been named as a DYNASTY by the NCAA in their history. Ohio State had a chance to win the game. Clemson was 94 yards away with only 3 minutes left in the game. They went thru the Ohio State defense in 3 plays like a hot knife thru butter thru a gassed Ohio State defense and scored the winning touchdown. Ohio State had a chance to come back but threw a interception to the superior Clemson defense. End of story. Result...Ohio State ended up being 0-4 against Clemson.

This game showed the start of Clemson’s downturn because of the offensive line. Ohio St whipped Clemson up front most of the game, but especially in the 2nd half. TL and ETN are great players, and they are why Clemson had a great season. Their departure, combined with continued poor O line play and recruiting spelled doom for DJU in 2021.

Your Heisman winning QB losing his last game at Clemson and ruining their championship run. No one expected Ohio State to beat Alabama that year or even expected them to be in the CFP considering they didn't even start the season until 6 games into the year. Ohio State dominance in this game proved that the year prior the better team didn't win. Clemson only won the previous year because the officials cheated for Clemson with the targeting call against Wade and over turning the fumble that was a scoop and score. Those where two game changing plays that cost Ohio State that game.

@Bud Tommy Ohio State should have a great team this year, but we have a tough schedule this year. Our offense is pretty explosive, and we have an all new, revamped Defensive coaching staff, thank god. Our defense has been terrible the last 2 seasons. Hopefully we get a chance to play Bama again, i love playing them. They are the best in the business, by far. Thats why Buckeye fans cherish that win in 2014, because we beat the best. I actually like Alabama, i like Saban too. Best coach possibly in history. Good luck this year.

I think most people would agree it would have been a different ball game had Ohio State played a full season. By game 6-8 of the season you are just hitting you're stride, another 5-6 games makes a world of difference in development. Not to mention losing Sermon the first run of the game, and Fields playing banged up. The Big 10's wish wash Covid decision probably robbed college football fans of what would have been a really good NC game. Just like the year before we all got robbed of watching OSU vs LSU which were definitely the best 2 teams in the country.

Football players have become obsessed with trying to hurdle a defender. One of these days, one of them will come down hard on the crown of their heads, and somewhere between that happening and the hospital bed, they're going to be asking themselves why they didn't just stick to completing a football move rather than trying to make play of the day. It's gonna happen.

This game was just a formality in my eyes before it ever started. I knew Ohio State would win this game. That being said... Clemson was a young team on D this past year. Clemson will be a very good team in 2021. As will Ohio State.

This ESPN announcer gets way too carried away, a lot of times when it's unnecessary. And 8n every game he calls. He starts yelling like a kick is being returned for the game winning TD when the water boys bring water out during a time out! It really starts to sound not genuine.
